The Boeing Company's Argon ST group, located in Fairfax, VA, is seeking an Experienced Digital Signal Processing Software Engineer who can simulate, model, design, implement, and analyze algorithms that meet challenging performance requirements in instantaneous bandwidth, sensitivity, beamforming, and latency. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization. We're looking for an engineer who brings fresh ideas to solve our customers' most complex problems. An ideal candidate is one who creates complex signal processing solutions and collaborates across disciplines to support their integration into a finalized system solution. In this position, you will design, prototype, develop, test, and deliver digital signal processing software for Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) products for the Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, and allied customers. You'll work on the core signal processing algorithms and infrastructure of our products to help expand them to capture new signals, increase the efficiency of existing signal processing, and advance our overall processing capabilities to target modern signals and emerging threats. You will contribute to collaborative, cross-functional teams of engineers performing software development, firmware development, hardware design, system integration, system engineering, and user testing. Our products intercept Radio Frequency (RF) signals, apply signal processing algorithms, distribute the processed results, and display them to operators. They are deployed to manned and unmanned platforms and fixed sites, including aircraft, ships, submarines, and ground mobile vehicles, and laboratories. Your work will advance the algorithms used for detection and recognition of signals, extraction of data from those signals, coordination to make that data available to operators, and initiation of further processing to help the fleet understand and respond to the RF environment around them. Position Responsibilities: Develops, documents and maintains architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems. Develops and maintains code and integrates software components into a fully functional software system. Develops software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met. Performs software project management and software supplier management functions. Develops, selects, tailors and deploys software processes, tools and metrics. Executes and documents software research and development projects. Serves as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations. Tracks and evaluates software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards. Works under general direction. Hybrid-This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will have the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule, performing work weekly onsite and remotely. Please note that the hybrid work schedule is subject to program/business needs. This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final US Top Secret Clearance Post-Start is required Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry 3+ years of experience in digital signal processing 3+ years of experience with Matlab and/or Simulink 1+ years of experience in systems engineering concepts (requirements definition, allocation, verification, architecture design and trade design) Experience with standard CM practices Comfortable with Hardware and Software in Integration lab environments Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Current Top Secret/SCI DOD clearance Experience in applying Agile and Lean Product Development (JIRA) principles is desired Hands on reverse engineering experience Knowledge of good requirements development practices 3+ years of experience in programming in C, C++, and/or Java Working knowledge of DSP development Experience working with ASICs or FPGAs Experience with performance characteristics of analog electronics or data converters (ADCs / DACs) Experience with digital/RF lab equipment (oscilloscope, signal generator, spectrum analyzer) Typical Education/Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (eg Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (eg PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience) In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard Relocation: This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
