POSITION SUMMARY Hannon Armstrong is currently seeking an Analyst - Investment Team - New Markets to join our team in Annapolis, MD. This individual will support the New Markets team within the broader Investment Team. RESPONSIBILITIES New Market assessments Support expansion and growth plans in new/emerging markets through robust assessment of market potential and characteristics including but not limited to climate impact, maturity (technology and readiness to scale), competitive landscape, key risks, and management approaches. Prepare fundamental assessments of market size, supply and demand balances, potential client company overviews, pricing expectations, key regulatory and or policy dependencies and opportunities. Prepare briefing decks for management tracking new market pipeline execution and synthesizing market trends from industry analysts reports and events. Investing activities Support transaction and due diligence processes for debt/equity investments and acquisition activity, including analyzing terms in underlying project agreements which may impact economic returns. Build and manage financial models, including underlying project operating proformas, to analyze and structure investment and evaluate associated risks. Build and manage portfolio models, incorporating underlying project / partnership models. Work closing with the broader Investment Team supporting all facets of investment execution, from initial qualification evaluation, term sheet development, internal investment proposal, due diligence, and documentation closing.EDUCATION AND PRIOR WORK EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree from a four-year institution; CFA and/or MBA preferred 1-2 years' experience in energy or environmental markets preferred Strong MS Excel financial modeling and data mining skills, with demonstrable experience working with complex models.
