Department Information

The Department of Resident Life at the University of Maryland serves a highly diverse population of approximately 12,500 undergraduate students living in traditional residence halls, apartments, and suites including some public/private partnership apartment communities. About 46% of all resident students are enrolled in twelve living-learning programs covering a wide array of academic areas. General Description of Duties

The Program Management Specialist supports the Human Resources and Business Operations units in the Department of Resident Life. This position has primary responsibilities for reception and office management for the office suite. The Program Management Specialist will provide significant support to payroll, benefits, financial, and business operations as overseen by the Coordinator for Payroll and Benefits and the Business Administrative Specialist who manages finance and budgeting functions.

This position serves as a member of the Resident Life Human Resources team and will participate in support of search and selection activities. The Program Management Specialist helps maintain multiple budgets related to office operations, recruitment, selection, training, and labor. The Program Management Specialist provides excellent communication with individuals and groups including students, parents, prospective employees, staff members, and other public and campus constituents.

This position is not eligible for regular telework.
