Description A self-starting, detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Clerk (A/R) might be interested in this job opening. This is a long-term contract / temporary Accounts Receivable Clerk position and is based in the Upper Marlboro, Maryland area. Robert Half is partnering with a growing Construction/Contractor company who is seeking an Accounts Receivable (A/R) Clerk to join the accounting team. As part of their duties, the Accounts Receivable Clerk will enter, post and reconcile batches, research and resolve customer A/R issues, prepare aging report, place billing and collection calls, maintain cash receipts journal, update, and reconcile sub-ledger to G/L. This is a great match for a candidate looking for career growth potential, and who is capable of processing 200+ invoices per week.Responsibilities- Identify delinquent customer accounts through various means, eg skip-tracing, written correspondence, phone contact, and making arrangements for payment- Be an ambassador of the mission, values, and culture of the organization- Confirm documents and codes- Take care of payments and compile segments of monthly closings and annual reports in compliance with GAAP- Balance bank accounts, posting and balancing financial data in a number of different ledgers- Contact clients to help resolve payment issues; assist in setting up payment plans- Execute a number of foundational accounting tasks in agreement with normal procedures, including general accounting tasks- Present information, as requested to shippers, customers, the sales/marketing department and other stakeholdersIf interested please call Robert Half at 410-423-9454 Requirements - AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting or related field- Quality experience with Sage Accounting Software- Billing experience- General familiarity with Bank Deposit- Accounts Receivable (AR) experience- Aging Reports experience- Well-founded grasp of chargebacks- Proven knowledge of Aging Reports- Cash applications experience- Practical knowledge of Microsoft Excel- Commercial collections experience- Be detailed, flexible, and organized- Knowledgeable of ERP systems- Strong analytical skills in basic accounts receivable and accounting policy- 2+ years of relevant experience in accounts receivableRobert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
