The candidate must be comfortable working with engineers, developers, and architects across multiple teams to collaboratively design creative solutions to complex problems. The candidate will support efforts to proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability, stability, scalability, and performance. This role demands excellent project management skills, great interpersonal skills, and the ability work independently as a self-starter.Candidate Responsibilities:Develop reporting and dashboards for a wide variety of network metrics such as utilization, capacity, bandwidth, uptime, latency, etc.Dig into network data to identify trends, findings, and areas for improvementEstablish a process of analyzing data from various service stacks to create predictive analytics for issues based on prior, historical informationProvide deep technical insight into network metrics and data for troubleshooting during outages or incidents including reviewing logs or data baselinesClearly define and document network issues and opportunities by conferring with engineers and leveraging available tools, evaluating procedures and processes, and assessing existing metricsTriage, analyze, and perform root cause analysis for network-related issuesProvide 24x7 after hours on-call support and support for off-hour implementationsPublish Network related documentation sets for runbooks, as-builts, and design reference Candidate Qualifications:The successful candidate should have experience in several of the areas listed below and a willingness to learn new skills to bridge any gaps:Strong understanding of networks and enterprise IT including TCP/IP, common networking ports and protocols, traffic flow, system administration, OSI modelAbility to extract data & insights from various sources including routers, switches, serversExperience with predictive analytics and creating solutions to take action on those findingsAbility to identify problems/opportunities, analyze root cause, and present recommendationsExperience with various network or IT tools including Splunk, packet capture/analysis (ie Wireshark)Possess a strong sense of ownership, responsibility, motivation, and continuous improvementExperience working within or driving projects using Agile Kanban and Scrum methods Preferred Skills:Experience with data science models and statisticsKnowledge of Python or other data science programming language Candidate Experience and Education:Experience: 2+ years data analytics or data science experience related to networkEducation: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Technology or similar (preferred) Benefits:At GEICO, we make sure you have the support and resources to leverage and develop your skills, secure your financial future, and take care of your health and well-being.
