Our team is looking for a hands-on Data Engineering Platform Manager to be part of a dynamic, high performing team in charge of Data Ingestion Platform. This team is performing a vital role in the renewed effort to make GEICO a Data First company by enabling platforms that bring data to modernized GEICO Data Hub on Azure & Snowflake. You will be working with technologies such as Kafka, Azure Data Factory, Ingestion SaaS tools, Azure Data Lake, Azure Databricks/Spark, and Snowflake. You will be driving the development of the Data provider framework for Data Ingestion that will fundamentally change the way source systems provide data to downstream analytics/ML. You need to have strong leadership experience, drive to succeed and ability to manage multiple critical projects.Key Responsibilities:Oversee Data Ingestion Platform & tools.Drive development and evangelization of Data Provider Framework.Collaborate with Enterprise Data Architecture and Data Governance teams to ensure data is managed and quality is maintained.Collaborate with Data Providers, Data Pipeline development teams and Data ConsumersEnable delivery of data products to the consumers by providing a stable Ingestion platform.Drive automation of platform & self-service for Data ConsumersCoach and mentor associates conduct performance appraisals of associates. Required Qualifications:3+ years of experience in an IT leadership position, managing critical and technical projectsPassion to innovate and provide solutions to challenges that are encounteredPrior Experience in developing associates through providing coaching, feedback, and mentoringExcellent verbal/written communication skills, including communicating technical issues to non-technical audiencesA Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, related field (business, finance, Mathematics, computer science) or equivalent professional experience is required Preferred Qualifications:Data Management or Data Integration or Data Engineering experience.Knowledge of Azure Data ecosystem technologies, Kafka, Snowflake, knowledge of Data Vault, Data Build Tool (DBT) and Dimensional modeling.Experience in Streaming & Batch Data Ingestion platform.Experience in Data provider framework.Prior experience in managing and delivering data products or data management.
