Gate Gourmet combines culinary expertise with the highest standards of food safety and production to deliver delicious, healthy, and affordable meals to over 270 million travelers around the globe.Job SummaryThe Manager, Order Management & Logistics, Pourshins is responsible for selecting, managing, and coordinating the transportation network and transport modes inbound to warehouses and outbound to customers. This position is responsible for managing the transportation requirements to meet customer needs, the oversight of inbound products, and the uninterrupted flow of outbound materials to meet customer requirements. Additionally, the position is responsible for the management of the Purchase and Sales Orders to ensure prompt movement of materials into our warehouses and out to our facilities. Key responsibility is the evaluation and improvement of the transportation network, assisting in the development of policies, programs, and procedures for transportation systems, including schedules, rates, routes, assignment of drivers and vehicles, and other terminal and transport operations. The position ensures compliance with transportation laws, procedures, and programs.Main Duties and Responsibilities:Oversee and liaise with 3PL providers to ensure effective and timely delivery.Works with Pourshins teams to ensure timely day-to-day communication with warehouse providers and end users.Liaises with service partners (transportation and warehousing) to ensure complete service delivery including on time and in full.Anticipates and proactively mitigates or manages potential operational disruptions and provides updates to warehouses, inventory planners, and the Customer Service, team.Coordinates inbound and outbound deliveries with Pourshins warehouses. This would include vendor shipments, deliveries to customers, shipments between warehouses, and customer returns.Manages and arranges inbound product transport in conjunction with Pourshins inventory planning team.Address any day-to-day issues that arise from transport providers or warehouses causing receiving or shipping delays.Manage and maintain delivery and rate schedule(s) for all deliveries: Inbound, Outbound, Warehouse to Warehouse, and Customer Returns.Maintains logs and information databases related to tracking information and on-time delivery history.Works with internal ERP systems and follows company processes.A cents € cents Work with 3PL suppliers on Continuous Improvement managing a pipeline of improvement initiatives for Service Quality and Service EfficiencyMonitor and update key performance indicators and reports for primary supply chain vendors used for review by senior management.Manages transport compliance with established proceduresDevelops and maintains strong working relationships with key stakeholder departments to facilitate workflow activities.Supports or represents the team from time to time at end-user meetings or in projects.Performs setup and other functions in ERP.Participates in service improvement or cost-saving initiatives and projects as relevant to the role and areas of expertise.Participate in defining and designing all 3PL transport KPIs for Quality and Efficiency. Prepares KPI reporting for areas of accountability, ensuring targets for the business are met.Monitor and update key performance indicators and reports for primary supply chain vendors used for review by senior management or customers.Supports the internal team in the investigation of complaints and issues.Manages credits/charges resulting from transport Over, Short, and Damage (OS&D) and other claims.Manages an ad-hoc set of transportation protocols and/or protocols established within a transportation management system.Maintains effective internal control over transport expenses versus budget. This includes regularly scheduled transportation costs and non-standard transportation costs.Validate the accuracy of cost information for all shipmentsConducts analysis of lanes, rates, and modes of transport including truck, rail, ocean and air.Participates in running annual RFPs for transport lanes within the network Manage a recurrent simplified tendering system for transportation by lane bundlesQualificationsEducation:Bachelor's degree in business or supply chain managementAPICS or CSCMP preferred; related operations management courses helpfulWork Experience:5+ years of experience in transportation, supply chain management, or logistics1+ years of customer service experienceExperience within the airline industry preferredTechnical Skills:Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Expert in ExcelProven experience in managing a dynamic multi-mode transportation operational platformExperience managing 3PL and owned asset transportation providersSound analytical and problem-solving skillsMust have the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentDemonstrated customer service orientation, both internal and externalExcellent time management and critical thinking skillsProven proficiency in problem-solving and decision makingLanguage / Communication Skills:Excellent verbal and written skills, ability to present proposals and performance data, comfortable interfacing with senior executives.
