A$ A' "A' ?Job DescriptionThis position is responsible for the day-to-day school operations in the areas of financial funding and student satisfaction. Our Financial Aid team ensures that financial aid policies and procedures are followed systematically and effectively across different departments and functions. They oversee and participate in interviewing prospective students and working with each enrolled student to ensure that every student receives the best financial aid award package possible. They support the institution's audit and reporting activities.Typical Duties and ResponsibilitiesManages the school's Financial Aid Department staff.Checks NSLDS (National Student Loan Data System) to determine applicant/student's default status.Uses ED Connect and ED Express software to package, originate, and print disbursement lists for grants and direct loans.Releases disbursements in a timely manner according to school policies and procedures and Title IV regulations.Keeps up to date with all the Federal Financial Aid Regulations (FSA Handbooks)Conducts professional judgment and verifications as needed.Upholds highest integrity and ethics when dealing with students.Maintains confidentiality of information per applicableFederal and Local regulations. Issues authorization forms, invoices, and correspond with different referring agenciesPrepares drop packages for withdrawn students in conjunction with the Business Office Reconciles disbursement records and other accounts on a monthly basisManages federal and state reporting requirements (SSCR, DLSAS, NSLDS, etc.)Maintains records for the financial aid candidates as requiredSchedules and conduct departmental meetingsSupervises and maintain the overall efficiency of the financial aid department.Conducts other duties as assignedPosition Requirements:BS/BA degree with accounting coursework or related work-experience.2+ years of financial aid experience.Ability to work with numbers and analyze financial information and reports.Working knowledge of Microsoft suite of applications (Windows Explorer, Word, and especially Excel),Strong organizational skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Familiarization with bank reconciliation.Experience with the US Education Department's Federal Financial Aid systems (ED Express, ED Connect, DLSAS, SSCR, etc.) (a plus, but not necessary)Please only apply if you have direct experience in school setting.Job Type: Full-timeJob Type: Full-timeExperience:relevant: 1 year (Preferred)Finance: 1 year (Preferred)Accounting: 1 year (Preferred)Education:Bachelor's (Preferred)Application questionsYou have requested that Indeed ask candidates the following questions:How many years of Accounting experience do you have?How many years of Finance experience do you have?How many years of relevant experience do you have?What is the highest level of education you have completed?When are you available for an interview or phone screen?
