Sales Representative - Healthcare

Summary:
● Capital One Securities has an immediate need for a senior institutional sales representative to join our team with client coverage responsibilities in the Healthcare (Pharma/Biotech) sector. The ideal candidate will have experience working directly in a sell side sales capacity in pharma/biotech, have a demonstrated track record of client success and connectivity, and possess the ability to work within a team and on a self-directed basis, while demonstrating excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.

Location:
● Preferred locations: McLean VA, New Orleans LA, New York NY

Responsibilities:
● Has senior responsibility for marketing and distribution of research and securities to institutional customers to ensure profitability and satisfy customer needs.
● Maintain a high level of profitable sales.
● Keep informed of security market trends and issues, developments affecting
corporations whose securities the department sells, and customer needs.
● Maintain up-to date familiarity with the current securities portfolio of each
customer/prospect in order to ensure optimum marketing potential.
● Provide advice to customers on securities purchases and sales by informing them of current market trends and recommending appropriate investment strategies.
● Determine specific customer needs and ensuring that appropriate research, corporate access, sales support, analyst connectivity and market transactions are executed.
● Develop and maintain contact with existing and prospective customers.
● Participate in firm short term and long term strategy and planning sessions.
● Provide guidance for planning travel with company management teams to visit portfolio managers of customers.
● Monitor multiple information sources on sector or company specific news items and trends
● Assist with the generation of sector, company, and market feedback
● Attend industry and company sponsored conferences and field trips
● Other duties as necessary

Basic Qualifications:

● Bachelor's degree
● 5+ years of experience in sell-side institutional sales in the Healthcare sector
● FINRA licensed with valid Series 7

Preferred Qualifications:
● Bloomberg proficiency
● Strong written and oral communication skills
● Experience facilitating meetings with company management teams and investors
● Ability to multi-task and collaborate with multiple teams in a dynamic organization
● Strong organizational skills
● 10+ years of experience in sell-side institutional sales in the Healthcare sector with established client/production history
