Job Description OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE Designs, Develops and Executes the technical design, development and deployment of products in an advanced, product-focused IT organization. Works with other Enterprise Architects, Product Engineers, Product Managers and Team members to ensure optimal implementation and coordination with other products in the product ecosystem. Makes sure Products and their components are well architected, documented and implemented with modern architectures such as microservice based APIs, helping drive products achieve their desired future state. Finally, the Product Engineer will be required to work with other product and platform teams in the ecosystem as needed. Ensures products are secure, use modern deployment techniques and functional APIs. Also track end of life components and transitions vs. future state progress against a product landscape. Provides strategic guidance to the application support teams in ensuring business continuity. Ability to keep up with the evolving technologies and provide recommendations and implement pilots for relevant use cases. Works with Governance committees to seek approvals to commission new technologies. ACCOUNTABILITIES Determines technical product development approaches, use different technologies, patterns and design methods along with modern scripted deployment techniques to rapidly and iteratively deliver on product development and enhancements. Serve as a Technical Member of the product team providing Technical Design, Implementation and Deployment artifacts through the iterative delivery of a Product. Work independently on tough problems with other team members and independently solve, with some guidance, very difficult technology problems. Understanding how to translate User, UX / usability and operational feedback into technical product design and implementation. Designs/builds/deploys complex systems and products to R&D to deliver value to our pipeline while ensuring we have a forward-looking technology base. Demonstrates advanced tooling and techniques to other technical organizations throughout the company Ensures good up to date system documentations to ensure operational excellence. CORE ELEMENTS RELATED TO THIS ROLE Should have strong technical experience of building and working on complex software applications and architectures. Should have a good understanding of IT Service management and change management processes. Should have a very good understanding of Agile project management methodologies. Serve as a technical contributor to work in a product focused delivery team, which includes Agile delivery iterations, federated architectures and included services as an offering. Ability to work as part of a delivery team including Product Managers, DevOps, Service teams, Customers, vendors and others to deliver products that make impact and deliver value. Design, Deploy, Implement and test proper restful API's, Microservices and their contracts to other product teams. Focus will be on the products they directly work on, with the ability to coordinate with other Product Engineers in different groups and broader technology and architecture teams in the Product and Enterprise ecosystem. DIMENSIONS AND ASPECTS Technical/Functional (Line) Expertise Ability to understand technology trends and assess how they impact the product roadmap and how they drive innovation. Work independently on tough problems with other team members and independently solve, with some guidance, very difficult technology problems. Maintains up-to-date knowledge on modern technologies, explores new platforms and beta tooling. Understanding of ETLs, Web Services, Microservices, REST APIs. Experienece with DevOps tools building CI/CD pipelines. Understanding of Quality controls and validation process needs in relation to technology implementations. Leadership Ability to maintain a tactical future state product roadmap while having a plan to migrate end of life product components to that future state. Ability to work with Product Engineers, Data Engineers and Architects across Takeda on a Product Ecosystem of Products, Platforms, Analytics and Microservices to give Takeda a modern footprint. Serve as a technical member on a product team, working with the other members, to drive to the best product possible for the customer. Decision-making and Autonomy Ability to work through and propose proper technology choices. Ability to determine what technology and methods can be combined for the optimal result on an ever-changing product landscape. Ability to choose correct tactical technology and method directions in their product. This includes the ability to test viability of new methods and know when to move forward or stop. Interaction Interact with cross-functional product team members, including Product Management, Dev/Sec Ops, Enterprise Cloud service teams, Functional Leads, Business Partners, Product Owners and others. Coordinate with other product engineers at a technical level and coordinate different technical aspects across the product ecosystem. Align with Enterprise Architecture, Platform Teams, Functional Data Teams and Quality teams to make sure your products operate in the broader ecosystem. Innovation Ability to understand complex problems and be able to apply modern technology patterns to them. Ability to influence technical directions both internally to applied product solutions. Ability to iterate and innovate as they apply modern product techniques while fostering an environment that encourages applied innovation. Complexity Ability to distill complex product feedback into actionable strategies, implementations and stable deployments. Ability to have an agile time-based delivery team operate within a traditional project and waterfall-based funding and approval cycles. Drive products from feedback, to technical design, then implementation and deployment. EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS: Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Informatics or similar 3+ years of experience as a technical specialist, development lead or equivalent Experience delivering architectural documentation and implementation against SAAS, IAAS or Development projects Preferably having AWS Certifications to support the understanding of the core Experience and Fluency Programming in C#,Java, or Python Experience with full stack development technologies like ReacJs, Angular Js,Java Spring Boot. Understanding of IAAS Environments including AWS, Azure or Google Web Services Experience working with CI/CD piplelines with github actions. Understanding of scripted deployment including Ansible, Cloud Formation, Puppet or Chef Understanding of Web Services as well as JSON formats Working knowledge of SQL and Relational Databases Ability to work in an agile and rapid changing environment with high quality deliverables In accordance with the CO Equal Pay Act, Colorado Applicants Are Not Permitted to Apply.
