Position Summary, Job Requirements & Responsibilities: What We're Looking For:Iridium is seeking a talented and motivated Tax Accountant III to join our Tax team. As a Tax Accountant III, you'll have the opportunity to grow and develop your tax research and analytical skills, as well as to continue to grow your tax compliance expertise. Working in this role, you'll get hands-on ASC 740 experience with the opportunity to develop your management skills. This position offers the ideal candidate an excellent learning environment including opportunities to work with and learn from experienced tax professionals at all levels, as well as cross-functional teams within the Company. We are a small, hands-on, highly technical tax department looking for someone eager to learn and grow as an integral member of our team. What You'll Do:Work in an environment where learning is highly encouraged with middle & upper management mentors providing an opportunity to build your federal, state, indirect and international tax knowledge baseAssist in the preparation of the annual and quarterly US GAAP global income tax provision under ASC 740 as well the tax-related SEC filings and Sarbanes-Oxley 404 complianceAssist with preparation of US federal and state income tax compliance, as well as preparation of certain non-income tax reportingReview foreign income tax reporting, including management of third-party preparersBe responsible for period updates and maintenance of tax forecast modelingAssist with tax technical research and analysis, as well as occasional work on special projects What You'll Need to Succeed:A professional demeanor, with the ability to work closely with colleagues, including remote team members, and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced team environmentA self-starter mindset, with ability to prioritize key tasks and complete assignments within strict time constraints and deadlinesStrong communication skills, with the ability to confidently present your work and analysis to management and colleagues in other departmentsAn analytical mindset, with the ability to understand a situation or problem and think critically to make decisions or suggest solutions.Be comfortable managing upward, including being a proactive communicator and asking for help when neededConfidence and an ability to establish valuable relationships with othersThe initiative to seek out ways to continuously improve yourself and gain new knowledge Experience & Education Requirements / EEO: Things You Must Bring to the Table:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a tax concentration within an Accounting program; graduate degree preferred3+ years of federal & state tax accounting and compliance experience working in public accounting or corporate in-house; will consider two years of concentrated experienceStrong Microsoft Office skills, particularly with ExcelThings That Would be Great if You Brought to the Table:CPA license strongly preferred Previous experience preparing tax provisions under ASC 740Iridium requires all employees/new hires to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 prior to starting work, unless otherwise prohibited by applicable state or local law.
