Duties

As a Supply Technician (Title 32), GS-2005-07, you will perform the below duties:
Performs routine and non-routine material coordination duties for special programs, maintenance, or production shops.

Responsible for local management of decentralized and decontrolled items which requires technical intervention to assure effective supply support and economy.

Responsible for limited aspects of storage management. May develop and install local procedures and techniques to achieve and maintain smooth, effective, and coordination storage operations.

Factor 1 - Knowledge Required by the Position
-- Knowledge of requisitions, supporting documents and reference material to perform material coordination storage management responsibility for special programs, maintenance, and production shops.

Factor 2 - Supervisory Controls
-- Supervisor makes assignments by defining objectives, priorities, and deadlines. Supervisor is available to assist the incumbent with unusual situations which do not have clear precedents.

Factor 3 - Guidelines
-- Incumbent exercises judgement in selecting, interpreting, modifying and adapting guides which seldom apply directly to the work.

Factor 4 - Complexity
-- Assignments cover one or more aspects of technical supply management work of unusually complicated or difficult technical duties relating to agency, intermediate echelon, depot local or other supply activities.

Factor 5 - Scope and Effect
-- Work involves a variety of technical supply problem situations either independently or as part of a broader problem solving effort under the control of a specialist.

Factor 6 - Personal Contacts and Factor 7 - Purpose of Contacts
-- Contacts are with a variety of operating officials, representatives of commercial firms, or with representatives of other government agencies.

-- Purpose of the contacts is to plan, coordinate, or advise on work efforts to resolve operating problems, clarify discrepancies within serviced organizations, and resolve automated system problems causing fallacious transaction records.

Factor 8 -Physical Demands
-- Work is primarily sedentary, however, there may be some walking, standing, bending, and carrying of light items and/or files. No special physical demands required.

Factor 9 - Work Environment
-- Typical work is performed indoors in an environment involving everyday risks. The area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.

Performs other duties as assigned.

  • NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. If you are not sure you are eligible for military membership, please contact a National Guard recruiter prior to applying for this position.
  • This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
  • Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
  • Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
  • Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
  • Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
  • You must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Per Centers for Disease Control, you are considered fully vaccinated 14 days after the final dose in your vaccination series.
  • You must provide proof of vaccination, or an approved medical/religious exemption (or application) at orientation.


Qualifications

- All qualified Male/Female Enlisted Personnel (E4/SPC - E6/SSG) currently employed (permanent) in the Virginia Army National Guard Military Technician Program with S&S.

Military Grades: Enlisted Member (E4/SPC - E6/SSG)

GENERAL EXPERIENCE : Experience, education, or training in a variety of operations or situations concerned with substance or content of supply actions, requiring ability to decide course of action to take, considering the circumstances or conditions encountered as well as experience using computer and automation systems?

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE : Applicant must have at least 12 months of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-05 level, or equivalent pay band in other pay systems in the Federal government? This experience may also have been obtained in the private sector, but must demonstrate that it is comparable to the GS grade indicated. This experience must include activities such as:
  • Experience which has provided you with a thorough knowledge of governing supply regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions.
  • Experience conducting extensive searches for required information and reconstructing records for complex supply transactions.
  • Experience providing supply operations support for activities involving specialized or unique supplies, equipment, or parts.
  • Experience performing routine aspects of supply work based on practical knowledge of standard procedures, where assignments include individual case problems related to a limited segment in one of the major areas of supply management.
