In this role, it will be critical for you to plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff. This permanent position is for a Controller who will work in the Washington, District of Columbia region.How you will make an impact- Comfortable handling responsibilities beyond formal job duties- Collaborate with executive team and partners to make efficient and effective firm-wide operation possible- Research, prepare and execute Finance Department initiatives such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as required- Manage the creation of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts- Inspect deliverables of self and team to ensure that they meet client expectations- Manage finance department operations, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll- Assess, execute and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies- Drive the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to ensure the timely cash collection- Perform tasks associated with month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis- Handle daily cash management and produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals- Present monthly financial reports to executive committee and partners Requirements - Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred- Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills- Demonstrated ability to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds- Outstanding analytical, quantitative and social skills- Comprehensive knowledge of General Journal- Great attention to detail- Prior work done in public accounting is desired- Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment- BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field- CPA/MBA preferred- Strong communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, written, and listening)- Prior work in technology, analytics and management experience desired- Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
