(Remote) Sr Systems Engineer
Position Summary: MAG Aerospace is currently seeking a motivated Sr. Systems Engineer to remotely support the STORM Program. An ideal candidate will be able lead integration projects through the systems engineering process, maintain system operations, comprehend modification design, and understand mission equipment payloads (MEPs). The candidate must have strong written and verbal communication skills and be able to brief large audiences on progress along with identified risks and issues. Candidate must be a self-starter with the ability to work with minimal oversight and support. Anticipated travel for this position is estimated to be less than 25%. Must be US Citizen Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Duties include, but not limited to:Determine and define project scope and objectives.Responsible for leading engineering projects from concept to implementation with a focus on maintaining system operations, design of modifications, and installation of mission equipment payloads (MEP).Will oversee engineering change proposals (ECPs), manage subcontractor activities, and interact with the government customer as needed.Coordinate test readiness reviews (TRRs) and plan resources for ground/flight testing events.Implement production, productivity, quality, and customer service standards.Resolve issues.Responsible for supporting configuration management efforts for multiple aircraft configurations.Technical expertise will be utilized to support all functions of the program management office (PMO) ie, contracts, configuration management, logistics.Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders.Oversee software development, implementation and sustainment process ensuring end item software meets all requirement. Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner.Prepare budget based on scope of work and resource requirements.Identify potential risks to project schedule, scope, and cost; implement effective mitigating steps to reduce risk. Coordinate with Program Manager to develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan utilizing Microsoft Project.Provide technical evaluations for proposals.Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution.Monitor progress and adjust as needed.Complete audits and identify trends to determine system improvements and implement change where necessary. Requirements: Minimum Requirements Knowledge and Skills The required skills and knowledge include:Must be results-oriented and possess strong organizational and communication skills.Must be able to multi-task, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment.Must be able to work independently and with a team.Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications, and familiarity/proficiency in Microsoft Project.Technical knowledge of the EMARSS aircraft variants, preferably EMARSS-S and/or its subsystems.Capable of explaining highly technical topics to customer managers in both oral and written forms.Understanding of system architecture drawings and signal flow diagrams.Possess the ability to analyze vendor system architecture solutions.Must be able to board aircraft while on the ground.Must be comfortable speaking to large groups, including high ranking USG customer, with clear and concise communication skills, exhibiting confidence in the subject matter. Proven ability to solve problems creatively. The minimum years of related experience required: 10 years of experience in Systems Engineering required. Education The minimum level of education required is: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. (Will consider experience in lieu of Degree). Desired Requirements The desired skills, knowledge, and education include:Direct experience working EMARSS-S upgrades and subsystemsINCOSE CertificationProfound experience with MS Project. Other Qualifications Outside of the above, other certifications, licenses, or clearances include:DOD TS/SCI security clearance preferred; however, SECRET clearance w/ eligibility for TS/SCI upgrade is required.
