Do you see the continued need to innovate in K-12 education for the benefit of each and every kid?yes. every kid. is looking for driven public policy professional to support our policy and government affairs teams to write and assess state-level legislation, to develop and recommend state-specific policy recommendations, and to achieve the organization's vision of the wholesale re-imagination of education.The yes. every kid. team is remote with an optional in-person office in Arlington, VA. Your Responsibilities IncludeDrafting and editing state-specific legislative language that aligns with the organization's values, vision, and missionAssessing and tracking legislative language in more than 15 states, measuring legislation for alignment with the organization's principles and objectivesTracking legislative calendars, meetings, and agendas Drafting timely responses to legislation that are easily accessible to multiple audiencesSupporting the government affairs team to assess and pursue policy reform opportunitiesCreating, identifying, and describing new policy that will achieve the organization's objectives in specific statesDeveloping arguments for or against specific policy proposals from multiple perspectivesKnowledge and Skills You Bring to the OrganizationExpresses oneself in a succinct and straightforward mannerWrites quickly, accurately, and clearly in a structured manner that synthesizes complex facts, analyses, and opinionsExcellent work management skills to ensure completion of multiple tasks under externally imposed short deadlinesStrong research and project management skillsAbility to work independently, and be very detail orientedAbility to work under tight timetables, in collaboration with a Government Affairs teamStrong analytical skillsAbout Usyes. every kid.advocates for changes to K-12 education that help students discover, develop, and apply their unique abilities, establishing a foundation for a life of contribution and fulfilment.
