Job Announcement

Under the direction of the electronic equipment supervisor, performs more complex tasks related to the installing, repairing, maintaining, and testing of fire alarm and fire suppression systems equipment to include but not limited to fire alarm panel, strobe lights, smoke/heat detectors, pull stations, drum drips and fire sprinkler heads. Leads and instructs other technicians in the performance of their duties, providing guidance to other technicians on technical aspects of their tasks. Inspects work performed by team upon completion of assignment, ensuring that equipment/system is fully functional. Trains less experienced technicians. Ensures that safety procedures/policies are observed at all times. Supervises unit in the absence of supervisor. Contacts vendors on technical support issues such as software/firmware upgrades and ordering new parts. Coordinates work with contractors and inspectors. Participates in inspections of new or newly renovated sites and prepares punch lists for equipment specifications and inventory lists. Responds to after-hours calls, i.e., assesses problem, takes immediate steps to address any safety issues, advises supervisor of problems and suggestions actions to restore service, and as directed, proceeds to make repairs. Incumbent is considered emergency essential. Flexible working schedule is required as well as overtime, call-back, and on-call.

Employment Standards

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to the following: High school graduation or a G. E. D. issued by a state department of education; plus, completion of an apprentice-level vocational training program in electronics; and two years of experience in the maintenance and repair of the electronic and electromechanical equipment specific to the position.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Any certification in Fire Alarm and/or Fire Suppression Systems.

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:
Driver's License (Required)

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
All newly hired employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (two weeks after the last required dose) as a condition of employment or obtain approval of a medical or religious exemption prior to their start date. Proof of an exemption or vaccination status will be required during the pre-employment onboarding process. New employees who obtain an exemption from the vaccine mandate for medical or sincerely held religious beliefs may be subject to a weekly testing requirement. The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check, driving record check, and pre-employment medical evaluation to the satisfaction of the employer.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to climb ladders up to 50 feet and work in physically fatiguing positions for long periods of time. Ability to lift up to 75lbs. For short periods of time. Carry up to 60lbs. Must be able to wear and use respirator. All duties may be performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
