Large Non-Profit, located in Virginia, is seeking a Finance Professional on a Contract to Hire basis to support the COO. This individual will supervise two (2) staff members as they prepare to roll out a new HRM system over the next couple of months. The ideal candidate will have effective communication and collaboration skills (the candidate will need to articulate this during the interview); the ability to provide turn-key solutions to leadership and an engaging approach to work in order to facilitate training on various financial tools to managers.

Responsibilities are as follows:
  • Will oversee the payroll, finance, and time & attendance portion of the HRM/Payroll system implementation
  • Manage the annual audit and preparation of all periodic income tax returns.
  • Oversee long-term budgetary planning and expense management in alignment with the strategic plan.
  • Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems, ensuring compliance with appropriate Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, regulatory requirements, and audit requirements.
  • Partner with Operations to implement specialized finance systems that meet the needs of the organization.
  • Manage cash flow and forecasting, and payroll.
  • Mentor and develop the finance team.
  • Ensure financial security and accountability by developing and enforcing all fiscal policies and procedures, including appropriate internal financial controls.
  • Track and manage grants and restricted funds.
  • Provide operational reports to the Leadership team.

  • Accounting, finance and payroll experience in a nonprofit environment is a MUST
