Duties

  • You will prepare specifications for materials ordered through purchasing section and specifications for informal, small purchase, indefinite quantity and large purchase contracts as necessary.
  • You will use computerized management systems for planning and estimating, record keeping and preventive maintenance scheduling as well as facilities inspection scheduling and record keeping.
  • You will be responsible for the accuracy of the inventory of equipment, and issuing and closing of tickets.
  • You will generate PM annual program cost estimates for the Supported Commands and provides cost to date throughout the year.
  • You will make intermittent inspections of equipment and facilities after the PM has been performed.

  • You will prepare plans for the work to be accomplished by the shops for all work generated by the preventive maintenance program
  • You will maintain records of inspections and maintenance performed in the Branch history files.
  • You will check buildings and/or equipment drawings where available, prepares estimates of man-hours required and orders materials to complete the job.
  • You will prepare a detailed cost estimate for proposed maintenance projects so management may determine if the proposals are within budgetary restraints.
  • You will participate in development and prioritizing of long range maintenance plans when funds are not sufficient to accomplish the work in a given year.
  • You will perform planning and estimating assignments for equipment installation or maintenance concerned with work generated by work request from technical departments
  • You will issue work orders and Preventive Maintenance tickets with complete and accurate estimates on work to be accomplished and shall list materials required.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver?s license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
  • This position is eligible for part time, full time or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.


Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Inspecting building and/equipment drawings where available to prepare estimates of man hours required to complete job/orders tasks; 2) Using computerized management system for facilities inspection, scheduling, and record-keeping; 3) Preparing Work Orders and specifications for material required to perform maintenance; 4) Providing maintenance for real property and equipment such as compressed air; heating; ventilation; air conditioning; fire suppression; and/or Direct Digital Controls. Education

You may also qualify for this position if you meet the following educational requirements:

Have a PhD or equivalent doctoral degree or; 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or; LL.M, if related. To be acceptable, the curriculum must be in a field of major study related to the duties of this position, OR have a combination of experience and graduate education as described above which, when combined, is equivalent to 100% of the qualification requirement.
