Aptive is seeking a Data Analyst to support VHA in conducting quantitative analysis of health care data for program evaluation purposes.
Primary Responsibilities
- Review evaluation design plans and identify appropriate data sets for analysis.
- Extract, build and analyze data from various VA data sources.
- Create custom SAS and/or SQL code for querying and compiling data.
- Utilize SAS/SQL/Python to create programs to run statistical data models.
- Coordinate and collaborate with other internal/external contracting teams to analyze data to determine appropriate success metrics.
- Document and report the findings based on the analysis and show year over year trends in program impact.
- Prepare briefings, studies, reports, and other deliverables for presentation to senior client officials.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Statistics or related field
- 2-5 years of experience developing and supporting SAS, SQL and/or Python data analysis.
- Ability to obtain a government clearance
- Experience building interactive data visualizations and dashboards and similar tools to communicate key operational metrics to senior leaders and stakeholders.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to analyze health care data and communicate results, issues, risks, and impacts in a simple, concise manner to a diverse audience.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and with team members from diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Technical writing skills to support development of business cases for policy transformation efforts.
Desired Qualifications
- Minor/specialization/course work in Data Analytics or Data Science
- Federal Government Consulting experience
- Experience working with VHA data sets from the Corporate Data Warehouse (CDW)
