Job Description

This role is responsible for assisting the Mass Media Manager in providing thought leadership, strategic vision, processes and methodologies specific to Social Media and Digital Advertising across all channels and platforms. Including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tik Tok, Pinterest, YouTube, LinkedIn, Influencers, mobile & display online advertising, and online video advertising. The Social Media & Digital Advertising Specialist is responsible for developing our social media strategies for each channel as well as establishing long-lasting relationships with Giant's customers. They are responsible for the development and execution of digital tactics in support of brand and omni-channel programs. This Specialist must make strategic recommendations to brand and marketing leadership teams with solid rationale based on customer insights, competitive activity, industry trends and operational understanding.

This role stays informed about new Social Media trends, Digital & Mobile advertising tactics and strategies related to the above. Serves as brand expert and primary resource for digital and social media best practices. Establishes long-term growth plans for Giant's digital and social channels, consistent with the brand and omni-channel needs of the business.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for development and ownership of the Giant Food social strategy and digital execution in coordination with internal teams and agency resources.
  • Manages working relationships with social and digital media agencies, including budget recommendations, content/creative development, and deadline management.
  • Creates and manages social & digital media calendars that deliver on brand and omni-channel priorities with an optimal mix of engaging, relevant and timely content.
  • Responsible for gaining alignment and approval of plans with cross-functional teams and leadership
  • Responsible for delivering sales and engagement objectives, channel strategy, brand standards and positioning, and desired customer behaviors through planning & activation
  • Develop channel plans inclusive of strategy support, objectives and messaging for individual campaigns as scheduled according to the commercial calendar.
  • Responsible for internal reporting of performance metrics, communication, and cascading.
  • Assesses key programs and tactics to ensure KPIs/goals are achieved in a consistent manner; actively monitors, evaluates, and optimizes performance results as needed
  • Stays up to date with the latest technology and trends for social and digital advertising consistent with social performance, strategy, and platform optimization
  • Builds timelines and ensures that all key project deadlines and milestones are met
  • Attend PR, community, retail, and other events to capture social media content as needed. *
  • Coordinates with PR and Consumer Affairs to craft consistent and appropriate responses to customer concerns and safety incidents. *
*May include occasional nights and weekends based on event schedules.


Essential Skills

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field
  • 2-4 years of experience in Marketing or related field
  • Strong Project Management and Strategic Planning skills grounded in analytical understandings
  • Skilled at calendar building and content management.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and collaborate with key business partners in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to manage/direct internal teams and external agency partners.
  • Proactive approach to problem solving with strong time management and attention to details
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to deliver presentations in a clear & concise manner
  • Understanding of customer segmentations and customer focus marketing
  • Detail oriented approach to daily tasks and projects.
