Responsibilities: The Donohoe Companies, Inc. is seeking a full-time Assistant Corporate Controller at its headquarters in downtown Bethesda, MD. Reporting to the VP - Controller & Treasurer, the Assistant Corporate Controller will manage a team of two accounting staff and supervise the day to day accounting functions of Donohoe's Corporate administrative division. This position will also work closely with the accounting professionals in Donohoe's operating divisions associated with the overall financial reporting of The Donohoe Companies enterprise. Additional key responsibilities include:Reviewing quarterly real estate investment consolidations for the Company's commercial and hotel real estate holdingsPreparing internal financial statements and annual and mid-year budgetsPreparing annual financial statements and footnotes for GAAP basis auditCoordinating response to auditors' requests and inquiriesReviewing daily Corporate bank account activity and assisting the CFO and Controller with banking relationshipsReviewing weekly accounts payable processing and payment requests Qualifications: To be successful in this position, you must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and at least 7 years experience, combination of public and/or industry sector); real estate experience preferred. CPA or CPA candidate preferred. Superior problem-solving and analytical skills, with great attention to detail. Prior experience managing a small accounting department or team. Strong organizational, verbal and written communication, and time-management skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, and Accounting software (Oracle/JD Edwards preferred but not required).
