Overview: ORAU is seeking a Policy Analyst to work Full-Time, Remote with CMMI as an ORAU employee. This exciting work will last four months, and the successful candidate will become a temporary employee of ORAU assigned to the Centers for Medicare and Medicare Services Innovation Center (CMMI). CMMI was established by Congress in 2010 to identify ways to improve healthcare quality and reduce costs in the Medicare, Medicaid, and Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) programs. Following this charge, CMMI, through its models, initiatives and Congressionally-mandated demonstrations, has accelerated the shift from a health care system that pays for volume to one that pays for value. CMMI models are also researching and testing different approaches to innovative information technology systems which are essential to supporting this value transformation. Responsibilities: This position will have the primary responsibility of working on related topics on emerging Medicare and Medicaid policy initiatives (eg, social determinants of health; value-based care) including assessing Medicare and Medicaid program data, translating evidence into policy, drafting/proposing policy and supporting documents and project planning and management. Write supporting documents.Assess Medicare and Medicaid program data and supporting stakeholder materials for thorough understanding of public health care area.Draft policies related to social determinants of health and value-based care.Project management.Review, research and write about issues of the policy in relation to health equity and access. Qualifications: Master's or other graduate degree in with a specialty in a health care related field. That could be nursing, public health, or another closely related discipline.10+ years of relevant expereince.
