Title: Senior Desktop TechnicianLocation: Washington, DC Clearance: Public TrustResponsibilities:Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end-user workstations and related hardware and software in order to deliver required desktop service levelsPerform onsite analysis, diagnosis and resolution of complex desktop problems for end users, and recommend and implement corrective solutions including offsite repair for remote users as neededAssess the need for and implement performance upgrades to PC boxes including the installation of CPUs, I/O and NIC cards, hard disks, hard drives, RAM, memory chips, CD-ROMs, and so onCollaborate with LAN technicians/network administrators to ensure efficient operation of the desktop computing environmentAdminister and resolve issues with associated end-user workstation networking software productsDevelop and maintain Knowledge Documents (Work Instructions) in accordance with Knowledge Management processes. Work with Knowledge ManagerProvide analysis related to the design, development and implementation of hardware for productsDevelop test strategies, devices and systemsIf necessary, liaise with third-party support and vendorsSupport and provide feedback to ensure continual process improvementProvide rapid support response for break/fix and requirement requestsRequirements:Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of professional IT experience, with 2 or more years in a management or technical team lead role administering operational computing environments; an additional 6 years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degreeExcellent technical knowledge of PC and desktop hardware and associated diagnostic tools to perform remote diagnosticsAbility to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environmentAbility to manage multiple tasks simultaneouslyExcellent customer service, written and oral communication skillsDemonstrated problem solving, quantitative and analytical skillsExpertise on multiple complex work assignmentsAbility to carry up to 50lbsFamiliarity with ServiceNow ticketing system.
