For more information, please visit: Responsibilities: Our finance management consultants help federal clients optimize the operations of their finance organization, including budget execution, accounting reconciliations (eg, Fund Balance with Treasury), intra-governmental payments and collections, government-wide treasury account symbol reporting, annual financial reporting and helping to meet the ever-changing requirements of federal financial reporting. This role will be part of Guidehouse Team helping a federal CFO organization with resource management planning activities such as budget planning & execution, internal audit support, travel authorization reviews, and coordinating financial activities for DOJ offices throughout the US This role, based in Columbia, South Carolina, will be focused on providing holistic finance support for DOJ offices throughout the country, including activities such as reviewing accounting practices, processing financial documents and transactions, and performing general liaison and budget execution functions between program offices. THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN COLUMBIA, SOUTH CAROLINA Qualifications: The following skills/experience/knowledge are REQUIRED to be considered for this role:* US Citizenship with the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance is contractually required* Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related discipline * A minimum of 2 years of federal financial management-related work experience in financial management, accounting, or auditing* Thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, generally accepted auditing standards, and advanced knowledge of Excel (Pivot tables, formulas, etc.)* Experience reconciling documents to financial reports, reviewing accounting entries to ensure transactions match supporting documents, and tracing transactions in accounting systems* Strong written and oral communication skills and a demonstrated ability to communicate and interface with various levels of management The following skills/experience/knowledge are PREFERRED to be considered for this role:* * Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related discipline* Experience monitoring and analyzing the financial condition of program(s) to determine whether current or proposed actions are financially sound* Experience with Federal Financial Management systems, specifically UFMS Momentum * Active Public Trust - Moderate Background Investigation (MBI) Additional Requirements: The successful candidate must not be subject to employment restrictions from a former employer (such as a non-compete) that would prevent the candidate from performing the job responsibilities as described.
