Position Summary, Job Requirements & Responsibilities: The Iridium Internship Program is an opportunity for students to be a part of the Iridium teams shaping the future of satellite communications. As an Intern, you'll begin making an impact on real projects from day one! Come prepared to grow, develop, and learn alongside a team and the leaders of our company. The Iridium Internship program is a 12-week program that runs from May 22, 2023 to August 11, 2023. During the program, interns will have the opportunity to provide valuable support to an Iridium department on a project or important work assignment. Interns will also be provided an opportunity to engage with senior leadership and fellow interns via regular engagement activities. Interns will participate in an end of internship presentation, where we ask them to reflect on their summer internships and present a summary of what they have learned and accomplished. What We're Looking For:The Iridium Human Resources team is seeking a bright intern who will directly assist the Human Resources team with a wide range of projects related to employee policies, recognition, compensation, onboarding/orientation, process automation, and special projects. You will gain a better understanding of the role that HR can play in an organization and be better equipped to later transition into a role in HR by developing a strong understanding of what HR is and what the team is responsible for. You will also have opportunities to network with other corporate functions in the office. What You'll Do:Evaluate current Human Resources processes and support the implementation of improvements to streamline and gain efficiencyResearch best practices for current or proposed programs and initiatives; assist with the development of new programs and/or policies to meet departmental objectivesPrepare and edit presentations and documentation for HR initiatives, events, or deliverablesExecute miscellaneous projects that involve preparation and analysis of system dataSkills You'll Obtain:Real-world experience in chosen field of interest and related topics through multiple hands-on projectsCritical thinking and analytical skillsExposure to the day-to-day responsibilities of an HR departmentDirect experience with various HR tools including iCIMS, ADP, Culture Amp, etc.Working in and contributing to a team environmentOrganization, time management, and project managementAbility to tailor your communication style to a variety of audiencesWhat You'll Need to Succeed:Ability to handle and maintain the confidentiality of highly sensitive informationStrong organizational, customer service, and project management skillsStrong work ethic, positive attitude, and professional demeanorAbility to work independently and as part of a teamExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAttention to detail and accuracyInterest in pursuing a career in Human Resources is a plus Experience & Education Requirements / EEO: Things You Must Bring to the Table:Must be a minimum of 18 years of ageMust be currently enrolled in a bachelors or graduate degree program at an accredited academic institution ( Human Resources, Business, or a related field)Must be eligible to work in the US Must be eligible to work in person Iridium requires all employees/new hires, including Interns, to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 prior to starting work.
