Overview: The Rehab Secretary performs clerical duties which contribute to the operation of the department. Works predominantly with an adult geriatric population Responsibilities: Duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following tasks and assignments: Communication: Participates as a member of the rehab team, demonstrating effective interpersonal communication with all facility personnel, residents and families. Acts as department receptionist assisting resident, visitors and staff as appropriate.Answers telephone in a courteous manner, identifying self and department.Interacts with others in a considerate, helpful, courteous manner.Attends resident/staff meetings as required Uses discretion in handling confidential information Maintains Medical Records according to policy: Utilizes computer programs such as but not limited to Casamba, PCC, Microsoft Word, Excel, Power PointObtains physician signatures as required within 30 days for each plan of careFiles printed rehab documents in the resident chart in a timely mannerAssists with Minimum Data Set completion as requested by Rehab DirectorPerforms documentation audits as requested by the Rehab Director Physician Orders:Confirms evaluate and treat and clarification orders are present in the electronic medical record for every resident on PT, OT or ST caseload.Audits discharge orders for residents who remain in the facility after rehab is complete Scheduling:Obtains resident daily appointments/transportation times.Confirms daily dialysis schedule.Tracks therapist days off/assists with finding PRN coverageSchedules resident therapy appointments.Updates electronic medical record as needed.Transports residents to/from therapy as needed. Provides clerical activities:Assists with payroll entry via Smart LinxEnters and e-mails therapist expense reports to accounts payablePosts current licenses for each treating therapistCommunicates with managed care companies to obtain outpatient therapy benefitsAssists with marketing letters and walkstrong updates Maintains a neat, orderly and safe work area, ie, desk, charts, corridor.Keeps department stocked with medical and office supplies to meet resident/therapist needs.Provides overall department organization. Adheres to policy and procedure: Knows and observes policies and procedures.Presents neat appearance in appropriate dress and identification as required.Abides by the standards identified in FutureCare's Statement of Corporate Ethics and the Corporate Compliance Plan. Performs educational activities:Attends all mandatory in-services. Other Duties: Performs other relevant duties as assigned. Qualifications: High School GraduateGNA certification preferredOne year experience in a Health Care setting preferred.
