This position is part of a team of top-notch developers who design, engineer, and deliver software products to our end customers. Responsibilities:Assist with research, design and development of software systems and applications in a team environmentDevelop and perform unit, integration, and system level tests to find defects; troubleshoot and debug development and production issuesWork closely with the team, and report updates and status clearly and accurately to managementTroubleshoot, test and validate software issues; resolve issues in a timely manner and maintain thorough documentation of all software solutionsYour Day-to-Day at Vulnerability Research Labs:Solving problems with innovative and unique software solutionsWriting cool NEW code - some days on one platform and other days on a different one (ie Windows or Linux)Poking around the internals of various operating systems (with Windbg, Immunity Debugger/Ollybdg, IDA Pro, gdb, lldb, etc.) discovering new features, vulnerabilities and techniquesValidating ideas and solutions using automation in a virtualized environmentMinimum Required Skills and Education:Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar from an accredited universityThis position may require being fully vaccinated against COVID-19Additional Qualifications/Skills:Imagination to think of new ways to solve hard problemsDrive to take code from a proof of concept to a customer deliverableAbility to work alone or in teams of 2-5 developersAttention to detail - we do code reviews but do not micromanageCuriosity and a readiness to tackle big challengesWillingness to constantly learn new programming languages and technologiesDetailed understanding of malware techniques, defenses, and counter measuresNetwork programming and protocol analysisFamiliarity with operating system internalsExperience implementing encryptionSoftware development experience with some of the following:Win 32 C/C++ (user and kernel mode)Building with custom tool chainsPythonAt least some development experience in or knowledge of the following:Windows API and/or kernel developmentLinux (user and kernel mode)Android or iOSThings we like best about VRL:The chance to work with the best in the businessSolving hard problemsA strong focus on learning and career development including conference and training opportunitiesMost of all: an interesting and challenging workplace that takes care of its employeesCOVID-19 Vaccination: VRL does not have a vaccination mandate applicable to all employees.
