The Y serves as an anchor in the community offering programs and services encompassing youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Associate Executive Director leads program operations including but not limited to membership, healthy living, aquatics, youth development and properties/facilities. This position provides leadership to Y team members, creates meaningful high quality experiences and ensures successful daily operations of the branch. We have multiple positions in the DC Metropolitan Area. Responsibilities of the Associate Executive Director Create a quality experience in all programs that will excite and delight all participants Supervise and provide leadership, direction and alignment of programming with a focus on increasing connection and involvement for both staff and members Continuously evaluate the scope of programs to identify new opportunities to grow existing programs and create new programs that serve the needs of our members and program participants Build a culture of high program quality and experience in all assigned areas Create and embrace a diverse and inclusive Y community to increase our local impact Lead direct reports to create a cause driven, interdependent, and unified team Recruit, hire, train and supervise a highly-skilled and trained team of full-time and part-time cause driven leaders Plan and organize regularly scheduled staff meetings to ensure consistent communications, directions and accountability Work with Executive Director to develop, implement and manage operating plans that promote program and membership growth for the Y Develop manage, and monitor assigned operating budgets to meet or exceed targets. Recommend adjustments to the budget to assure a balanced operation and submit reports on current operations Actively participate in Board development activities Ensure safety and maintenance of facilities, grounds and equipment for staff, members, and participants Provide leadership to the Y fundraising initiatives Qualifications We seek a strong leader with values that align with the Y mission and: Accomplishments in staff development, fund raising, program planning and innovation, budget development and fiscal management YMCA operations leadership strongly preferred Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university Four or more years' experience in management with direct supervision of multiple levels of a diversified workforce Effective interpersonal and communication skills Desire to be part of a progressive organization that prides itself on a culture of diversity Talent to coach and mentor employees in an environment focused on staff investment for mutual benefit and success Positive, impactful, results oriented leader.
