Company DescriptionThe Vertex Companies, LLC is a leading multidisciplinary engineering and consulting firm that provides forensic consulting, engineering design, construction management, claims & dispute resolution, environmental, and digital solutions to insurance carriers, sureties, law firms, real estate owners, property managers, public agencies, and commercial clients.Job DescriptionVERTEX, LLC is seeking a full-time Technical Director to lead all facets of field and laboratory data management and visualization associated with a wide range of environmental projects across the country. The Technical Director's primary responsibilities will be to provide quality-assured data tables and graphical visualizations to environmental project managers. The ideal candidate will have the desire and vision to improve workflow efficiencies and drive the strategic innovation of data management within the Environmental group.Core ResponsibilitiesIntegrate data from laboratory, field, and historical sources into VERTEX's EQuIS databasesPerform standard quality assurance checks on data loaded to EQuIS databases. Document and communicate database quality issues identifiedManage administration of EQuIS users, provide training and troubleshootingIdentify potential data issues and present solutionsCollect, evaluate, process, and integrate GPS dataGenerate data tables of analytical data and/or field informationProduce concise, accurate, and aesthetically compelling figures and data visualizationsProvide customized query/reporting support, and develop reporting dashboardsDevelop workflows for efficient data collection, presentation, analysis, and visualizationInteract and maintain successful relationships with clients, VERTEX employees, laboratories, and subcontractors to support data management and data visualization for environmental projectsQualificationsCertificate or BS/BA degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related fieldProfessional experience in data management best practices, data governance, and data quality Advanced skills using ESRI ArcGIS applications and experience in using GIS to solve problems and clearly present analytical dataProficiency in EarthSoft's EQuIS, Microsoft Excel, Access, and SQL ServerFamiliarity with AutoCAD, as well as visualization tools like EnviroInsite, Surfer, gINT and/or RockWorks is a plusSkills & AbilitiesExcellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsAbility to analyze and interpret data from many sources, including field data and online data Must be able to formulate and clearly communicate ideas to others, including those who have only a basic knowledge of data management or GISExcellent computer skills and ability to learn new software packagesAbility to successfully execute and prioritize multiple complex tasks simultaneously Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with co-workers and clients Additional InformationAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.VERTEX offers a solid total compensation package including base salary and discretionary bonus plan.
