We are ready to hire a SWFTS Software Engineer & Integrator for the Trainers team who delivers cutting edge training systems to the submarine fleets of both the US Navy and Royal Australian Navy. Their work is fast-paced and exciting, and often involves integrating software builds that are not yet complete in order to deliver training for systems and capabilities that are not yet present in the Submarine Fleet. Training is deployed to Navy Bases including San Diego, Pearl Harbor, Bangor, Norfolk, Groton, Kings Bay and Perth, Australia.What you bring to the table:A Bachelor's in software engineering or a related technical field, plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience or a Master's degree is required; Agile experience preferredStrong understanding of software engineering concepts, principles, and theoriesSolid knowledge of the software development processIntermediate Linux (RHEL or similar) OS knowledgeKnowledge of creating and modifying kickstartsKnowledge of networking interconnection protocolsHow to troubleshoot on a Linux systemExperience with Python and BashExperience with qemu or other virtualization techology in a Linux environmentWillingness to travel, work on-siteWhat sets you apart:Experience with Kubernetes/DockerKnowledge of System Security Engineering concepts and principlesIntermediate Windows OS knowledgeCreating group accountsRunning Active Directory/Domain ControllerKnowledge of Ivanti/SplunkExperience running STIGs/Scap scans on Windows/Linux environmentsNetwork/Switch experience Salary Note: This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.).
