VOLUNTEERS OF AMERICA NATIONAL HEADQUARTERS Objective The Director, Corporate & Foundation Relations is responsible securing major gifts from corporations, corporate foundations, and private foundations to support the mission of Volunteers of America and its affiliates. This position works to establish long-term partnerships and strengthen existing relationships with the corporate and foundation sector. The position will assist with raising money for a capital campaign for a new national office - projected to open in 2026. The Director, Corporate & Foundation Relations, works closely with the Vice President, Corporate Partnerships, Senior Vice President, Development, and Executive Vice President, External Affairs to identify, engage and secure national corporate and foundation relationships. Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities Corporate and Foundation PartnershipsWorks closely with Senior Vice President, Development and Vice President, Corporate Partnerships in the research, solicitation and cultivation of major corporate, foundation and high net worth giving opportunities -- targeting $1 million plus gift opportunities Develops and implements strategic fundraising plan to meet established annual national corporate and foundation revenue goals Assists in leading capital campaigns- working with Senior Vice President, Development, capital campaign firm and other key staff and campaign committees Leverages CEO and Board and Affiliate leadership to cultivate and solicit prospective corporate and foundation partners Initiates opportunities for CEO, Senior Staff, Affiliate CEO's, and members of the National Volunteer of America Board of Directors to interact with corporate and foundation prospects and understand foundation and corporate interests and goals Assists the Vice President, Corporate Partnerships with sponsorship requests for the Volunteers of America events. Develops corporate partnerships, through such vehicles as cause marketing, to support nationwide fund-raising efforts and organizational awareness Assists with managing annual corporate and foundation Partners Summit Use "moves management" process and CRM technology to operationalize donor engagement Develop donor products and proposals, working closely with program, communication and other key staff, to engage corporate and foundation donors in partnerships that support mission focused work Provides end to end capability in managing national level partnerships and their consistent stewardship including timelines and projected revenue Assists with stewardship initiatives for corporate partners by facilitating meetings between partners and senior staff, affiliate CEO's and when applicable, national board members to ensure continuing partner cultivation and recognition Monitors and oversees corporate and foundation partnership agreements Coordinates volunteer recognition events with corporate partners and affiliates including convening national and local communications and marketing staff to coordinate volunteer events and media coverage Represents Volunteers of America at meetings, conferences, and functions Develops and maintains an active list of contacts/prospects in order to interact with external sources for the advancement of the organization Provides technical assistance and information to increase affiliate's capacity to evaluate and solicit partnership opportunities Other Donor Cultivation Works with leadership of corporate partners Develops and executes stewardship programs Leverages relationships with existing partners to cultivate new donor relationships Creates donor products as a cultivation tool with donors Develops funding proposals, working closely program and other key staff, for fully cultivated, "ready to ask" donor prospects Builds Affiliate and corporate relationships from timely cultivation, solicitation and stewardship Provides management with planning and coordination of grant development opportunities and coordinates/conducts all necessary follow-up activities Performs other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills and Abilities A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is desired A minimum of seven to ten year's demonstrated successful foundation, corporate and fundraising experience - capital campaign experience preferred. A proven track record of successful major gifts fundraising (eg, $1 million plus gifts) from foundations, corporations, and high net worth individuals Self-motivated and disciplined to regularly set and achieve work goals Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to effectively delegate, manage and motivate other employees and outside contacts Excellent corporate management skills, including negotiating skills and ability to influence as needed Good interpersonal skills to work with others. Ability to communicate effectively Sound and accurate judgment with an ability to support and explain reasoning for decisions. Includes appropriate people in decision-making process; and ensure timely decisions are made Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM technology Ability to work flexible hours.
