A$ A' "A' ?AHC Inc. is seeking an experienced real estate developer with proven leadership skills and a strong entrepreneurial drive coupled with intense curiosity and creativity.A' AHC is a leading developer of affordable, workforce and mixed-income rental housing in the Washington & Baltimore regions and currently owns over 8,000 apartment units at more than 50 communities.A' AHC's Resident Services team provides a wide array of educational programs and social services to help our residents build stronger futures.A' A' About the Team: The Real Estate Development team offers a fun, fast-paced, environment in which to make a meaningful impact in our community through the creation and preservation of affordable housing.A' The team is responsible for identifying, acquiring, financing, and constructing / renovating multifamily rental properties.A' The team utilizes a wide range of affordable and conventional financing tools and partnerships to raise the capital necessary to finance innovative affordable, mixed-use, and mixed-income communities.A' A' A' About the Job:The Senior Development Manager role is central to the Real Estate team and requires the ability to directly oversee complex real estate initiatives as well as to provide leadership, guidance and support to less experienced Development Managers.A' Senior Development Managers have substantial autonomy and complete most work independently, including identification and pursuit of new business opportunities.A' Senior Development Managers work closely with AHC leadership and colleagues in other divisions to ensure alignment across functions and efficient execution.A' Primary responsibilities include:Provide project team leadership for complex real estate initiativesTrain and support less experienced colleaguesIdentify new business opportunities and lead efforts to obtain site controlMaintain and expand a broad network of housing-related contactsParticipate in housing policy discussions with local jurisdiction officials and advocacy groupsGenerate development budgets and pro forma to evaluate financial feasibilityNegotiate with financing partners to obtain acquisition, construction, and permanent financingWork with design teams, land use counsel, and local jurisdictions to gain approval of land entitlements and/or financial supportCoordinate the underwriting and closing process, including document review Present to senior staff, the AHC Board of Directors, community groups and local governmentsA' Minimum requirements:Substantial experience developing and acquiring multifamily affordable housingDetailed knowledge of LIHTC and other affordable housing financing toolsExperience creating development budgets and working with real estate pro formas to model complex financial structuresThe ability to delegate tasks, teach and supervise less experienced teammates Graduate degree in finance, real estate, urban planning, or other relevant disciplineA' Desire to take ownership of projects while working well within a team environmentAbility to juggle multiple, complex projectsStrong interest in affordable housing and a passion for creating positive changeKnowledge of construction, property operations, and other applicable fields is a plusExcellent oral, written and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independentlyA' A' A' A' A' A' A' A' A' A' A' A' A' For immediate consideration, please email your cover letter and resume to jobs@ or visit & apply on our website , under the "A< oeAbout Us' tab.
