We have an immediate need for a Unified Communications Engineer to support an important government customer in Alexandria, VA.Job DescriptionThe contractor shall have the ability to apply technical knowledge of networks, operating systems, applications, and utilities to the OIG environment. Evaluate and determine computing resource requirements for ongoing and future OIG projects.Daily Job Responsibilities:Serve as the subject matter expert and final point of contact for troubleshooting hardware and software of VOIP and VTC systems and related desk phones, soft phones, integrated room equipment.Recognize complex system or equipment problems and makes appropriate corrections or adjustments.Apply advanced diagnostic techniques to identify problems, investigate causes and recommend/implement solutions to correct common failures.Troubleshoot network or facility equipment impairment and identify need for escalated support.Utilize functional analysis knowledge of system characteristics to provide advice on audiovisual requirements for various high profile and VIP meetings.Test facility VOIP equipment to ensure a proper operational environment and configure equipment and venues to accommodate special user needs.Engineer, design, install, configure, and optimize IT systems.Provide system and engineering support for documented and approved projects and tasks.Ensure all engineered solutions are in compliance with DISA STIGs, DoD and OIGThe contractor shall provide expertise in the design, implementation, configuration, and optimization of OIG IT systems on the Unclassified (NIPRNet) and Classified (SIPRNet) networks.The contractor shall have the ability to apply technical knowledge of networks, operating systems, applications, and utilities to the OIG environment. Evaluate and determine computing resource requirements for ongoing and future OIG projects.Perform duties as a Project Lead. Develop task lists, assist the OCIO PMO withproject documentation, maintain project status in the OIG automated project tracking system, and ensure milestones are identified and met.Provide OIG management proposed configurations, optimizations, and system improvement plans.Engineer and design hardware solutions as required to ensure capacity and availability of OIG services.Ensure changes are completed according to the project and/or release manager schedule.Clearance: Secret Contract/Project Description/Overview:The Contractor shall utilize all available monitoring systems to provide computer network defense. In support of this task the contractor shall:The Department of Defense Office of Inspector General (DoD OIG) Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO), is responsible for installing, maintaining, operating and supporting all DoD OIG IT systems. The work of the OCIO enables the DoD OIG to accomplish its broad and continuing mission to support the warfighter and promote accountability, integrity, and efficiency in the Department of Defense.The importance of the DoD OIG oversight work is signified by the enormity of the Department's mission, the numerous assets that DoD utilizes to accomplish its mission, the magnitude of the DoD budget, and the over three million personnel who are part of the DoD family.The DoD OIG requires Information Technology support services covering a full range of technical, functional and managerial expertise to support the DoD OIG program initiatives. Current OIG transformational efforts focus on the improvements to business processes and organizational structures as part of the broader DOD effort to better support the war fighters, services and agencies, and Congressional mandates. A major focus of the transformation process involves leveraging Information Technology (IT) solutions to improve efficiency and establish an effective workforce.Minimum Required Skills:Ability to design, manage and maintain Cisco VOIP infrastructure.Expertise in Cisco products to include Call Manager, Unity Connection, Contact Center Express, Finesse, IM and Presence, Cisco Meeting Server, Cisco Meeting Manager.Expertise in configuring and troubleshooting VOIP Gateways with SIP and PRI Trunks.Knowledge of VTC infrastructure and it's integration with Cisco Call ManagerKnowledge of Cisco CMS integration with Active directoryKnowledge of Cisco TMS and TMS-XE integration with Exchange.Ability to configure and manage endpoints to include the following:Cisco 7965 Desk PhoneCisco 8851 Desk PhoneIP CommunicatorCisco JabberFinesse DesktopCisco Room KitCisco Room Kit PlusCisco Room Kit Pro Ability to assist customer with troubleshooting issues remotely, and desk side.Ability to STIG servers and endpoints in accordance w/ DOD GuidelinesAbility to generate and update certificates for servers and endpoints.Ability to manage and maintain applications on Microsoft Server 2016Understanding of Server Virtualization on VMWare platforms.
