ProjectGo and WSI Program Administrator The Global Education Office (GEO) provides international study/internship and research opportunities for GMU students, faculty, staff, and the general public. GEO functions as the hub for international educational activities at Mason. GEO is looking for an enthusiastic and energetic person to fill the newly created ProjectGo and WSI Program Administrator role.George Mason University has a strong institutional commitment to the achievement of excellence and diversity among its faculty and staff, and strongly encourages candidates to apply who will enrich Mason's academic and culturally inclusive environment.Responsibilities:ProjectGoResponsible for coordination with IIE (Institute of International Education) and the Mason grant principle investigator regarding budget development (obtain quotes for program activities) and implementation of programming. Coordinate with PI and course faculty to schedule courses, plan and secure class rooms, plan and schedule excursions, book activities and any required transportation. Coordinate payment for activities, staff, and faculty. Arrange and pay all participant travel. Activities are planned being mindful of the program budget. Assist with day-to-day activities while program is taking place as needed.Responsible for implementation of student recruitment strategies, application processes, advising of students of enrollment processes, processing student applications, and post application materials. Manage communication between students, faculty, and departments. Student materials clear and up to date. Recruitment will include presentations (in person and virtual) and the creation and maintenance of published material.Washington Summer Institute (WSI) Responsible for program development of the Washington Summer Institute. Development of subject streams and customized programming with partner institutions. Collaborate with departments for customized programming. Recruitment of faculty to teach pillars. Manage communication between partners, faculty, and departments across campus and abroad on program offerings. Promote and market WSI to institutions abroad and to Mason departments/units through presentations and the creation and maintenance of published material.Responsible for implementation of student recruitment strategies, application processes, advising of partner institutions on enrollment processes, processing student applications and post application materials. Manage communication between students, faculty, and departments across campus and abroad on program offerings. Student materials clear and up to date.Responsible for securing visits for the program, obtain quotes and book activities, both on campus and off. Activities are planned mindful of the program budget. Assist with day-to-day activities while program is taking place.Required Qualifications:Working knowledge of international study abroad program administration;Demonstrated administrative experience in an institute of higher education;Working knowledge of different educational systems throughout the world;Demonstrated ability to work with people of different cultures;Demonstrated international experience as well as cross cultural skills;Experience with student advisement, experiential education, field studies and marketing;Demonstrated proficient computer skills in MS Office Suite as well as experience with database management; andHighly organized and detail oriented. Ability to work independently, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks.Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor of Arts in International Studies, Education, Foreign Language or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience;Demonstrated administrative experience (generally 5+ years); Background in study abroad, higher education administration, experiential education or field studies;Work experience at a university preferred; andExperience working with people of diverse backgrounds.NOTE: Hybrid schedule possible (3 days on campus, 2 days telework). This hybrid schedule will be regularly reviewed and change as the needs of the Global Education Office and the University change. Telework agreements must be reviewed and approved by the State.
