**Description:**: Safely and efficiently perform machine labor for equipment and machinery common to maritime vessels and/or general industry including but not limited to pumps, valves, winches, gear boxes. Aggressive work ethic with focus on production.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & TASKS:Ability to apply basic machine shop mathDemonstrate layout proficiencyDisassembles various types of equipment and machineryProficient at set up and operation of drill pressesPerform overhaul, maintenance, testing of pumps, valves, turbines, condensers, shafts, rudders, and winchesSet up and operate portable machining tools; proper care for and safely use hand and power toolsMIG & Flux Cure are our primary types of welding. Occasionally a project will come up where TIG will be used such as the aluminum rescue boats or tanks. We do all new construction start to finish of Luxury Big River Cruise Ships, using all steel. We DO NOT do any repairs and there is no dry dock.**Skills:**Shipyard, welding, blueprint reading, Tig, Flux core**Top Skills Details:**Shipyard,welding**Additional Skills & Qualifications:**They will do a lot of welding. All our exhaust pipes, gas lines and any other steel pipes that are related to the engine and/or exhaust are all custom made right here on siteExperience with troubleshooting and repairing a variety of mechanical equipment to include ANSI pumps, various types of compressors, blowers, fans, gearboxes, extruders, mixers, agitators, and blendersExperience installing below deck auxiliaries, such as evaporators, stills, heaters, pumps, condensers, and boilers and connects them to stream pipe systemExperience in the removal, repair, and modification or overhaul various types of marine shipboard equipment and system such as valves, pups, hydraulics, turbines, reduction gears, generators, anchor windlass and steering gearsExperience reading and understanding blueprints, sketches, and templatesFamiliar with industry codes and regulationsExperience with both manual and semi-automatic welding procedures. This will include but not limited to Flux Core, MIG, TIG and stick.
