Description: Summary: The Service Technician is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining the client's pool equipment by performing the following duties. Duties and Responsibilities of the Service Technician include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Manages seasonal open and closing of pools.*Manages pool startups and indoctrinations.*Installs and repairs pools equipment.*Handles winter cover measuring and installing.*Handles employee training.*Manages weekly service of contracts and plaster prepping.Performs other duties as needed or requested. Requirements: The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.Supervisory Responsibilities:The service technician directly supervises up to four employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints, and resolving problems. Qualifications:For the service technician to perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Language Ability:service technician ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. Math Ability:The service technician would need the ability to work with mathematical concepts such as swimming pool gallonage. Reasoning Ability:The service technician would need to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Computer Skills:The service technician would need to have knowledge of automation equipment that connects to customer's devices. Education/Experience:High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certificates and Licenses:Valid driver's licenseAPSP/NESPA Pool Service Professional Certification is helpful, but not necessary Equipment:Hand toolsPower toolsGas-powered toolsPool Physical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
