ABOUT THE MONTGOMERY COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (MCDOT)

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
Manage complex, capital improvement projects within the Division through the planning, design, and construction phases, and advocate Montgomery County’s Vision Zero Action Plan, that would improve pedestrian safety in Montgomery County. The Employee will manage staff and consultants conducting traffic safety studies associated with the County’s high injury network (HIN) and in walksheds associated with the Safe Routes to School Program. Employee will conduct and manage Pedestrian Roadway Safety Audits throughout Montgomery County, ensuring that the audit recommendations are implemented in a timely manner, and manage the Pedestrian Safety CIP budget.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Planning complex traffic safety and operational studies on County roadways and in school zones
Supervising and managing staff and consultants as part of the Safe Routes to School Program, and those supporting the Division’s Vision Zero action items
Applying for and managing state and federal grants and monitoring contracts and contract expenditures
Coordinating interdepartmental efforts to implement Vision Zero action items
Functioning as supporting staff member to the Pedestrian Bicycle Traffic Safety Advisory Committee
WHO WE ARE SEEKING
You have excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.

You are organized, detail oriented, and possess computer skills.
You are a problem-solver who can create innovative solutions and foster coordination between groups and agencies.
Experience: Five (5) years of professional experience in design/construction project management, contract administration and quality control/quality assurance.
Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Civil/Structural Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
Equivalency: An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
License: Possession and maintenance at all times of a valid Class C (or equivalent) drivers license from the applicant’s state of residence.
