Summary

The MIL Corporation is seeking an Information Systems & Cyber Security, Senior Associate, who will support a Federal Government client based at our St. Inigoes, MD location. This position may be eligible for remote work depending on contract/client and hiring manager approval.

The Information Systems & Cyber Security, Senior Associate will apply CTT, ADE (Acquisition Decision Event), and IA principles to analyze, assess, and validate all types of Cyber Security for Border Protection systems from import scanning to sensor relay and processing. The successful candidate will perform the activity as a member of the Cyber Engineering Cell.

Responsibilities
  • Communicate and document Cybersecurity Acquisition processes for design, development, and test of system components/equipment/subsystems of approved posture and readiness supporting Cyber Risk Recommendation Memorandum (CRRM) process at projected ADE stage gates
  • Apply systems engineering principles for identification of deficiencies and recommendations of risk mitigation to customer.
  • Attend various meetings to represent Cybersecurity Acquisition Risk Management with confidence and security knowledge.
  • Work with other IA professionals to develop technical solutions to problems, implement enhancements and upgrade system architectures as may be required to support cybersecurity concerns.
  • Communicate understanding of Categorization, Security Control selection along with required artifacts utilizing CSAM (or eMASS) for ATO packages.
  • Professionally convey security issues to operations and operation issues to Cyber program.
  • Provide cyber resilience expertise to system development teams throughout the System Engineering Life-cycle process (SELC).
  • Ensure Plan of Action & Milestone (POA&M) reports are maintained and that security vulnerabilities are tracked and remediated.
  • Produce technical writing in accordance with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) policy

Required Qualifications
  • Security + certification
  • 7 years of related experience; 4 years of related experience with a Master's Degree from an accredited college.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of direct experience with government IT systems in Information Assurance or Cybersecurity areas.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of direct experience with government IT and/or network systems support.
  • Working knowledge of system engineering and system architecture principles.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team using diplomacy and tact.
  • Make use of problem-solving and corporate politic comprehension ability.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Per federal guidelines, you may be required to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination or willingness to obtain vaccination

Desired Qualifications
  • Top Secret Clearance
  • Cybersecurity certs, Academic courses or degree in Cybersecurity related field
  • Knowledge of LAN/WAN network architecture, network topology and protocols, network cabling and interfaces.
  • Cyber Table Top (CTT) experience.
  • Experience with Cloud solutions
  • Experience with Non-Dod Government networks.
  • Experience with HBSS, HIPS, or similar cybersecurity modules.
  • Visio Skill
  • Wide scope of general IT knowledge
  • 10 years of related experience

Education

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university. Six (6) years of work experience related to the position or an Associate's Degree plus four (4) years of additional work experience related to the position may be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree.

Clearance
  • All applicants for this position must possess a Secret Clearance; please note that the clearance process takes into account financial background aspects.
  • Able to successfully complete a Law Enforcement Sensitive clearance (CBP Background Investigation).
  • US Citizenship required.
