The Program Analyst will support VACO and VHA in tasks requiring program planning, audits, evaluations and careful note-taking related to various healthcare and suicide prevention-related programs and projects. Tasks may include supporting program analysis, strategic planning, integrated master scheduling, event planning, Congressional affairs, metrics, project management, and risk management.
Primary Responsibilities
- Support program and project management activities including coordinating multiple tasks and project teams, distributing project communications, and participating in various meetings and events
- Support project meetings and conference calls for assigned projects, workgroups, and teams (to include scheduling, reserving conference rooms, issuing invitations, developing agendas, and recording minutes)
- Assist in developing executive-level briefings and presentations
- Support several program initiatives by providing various services, including program and project management-related support, communications, change management, program analysis, organizational and functional assessments, performance metric development, data analysis, implementation planning, and business process reengineering
- Create reports, metrics, and tracking mechanisms and provide analysis to relevant stakeholders
- Coordinate and consolidate status report information on a weekly and monthly timeframe
Minimum Qualifications
- 1 year experience of program analysis, project management, consulting or relevant experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Ability to interact and engage with Executive-level stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
- Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance
- U.S. citizen/Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of military and Veteran populations
- Background working with public health, mental health, and/or suicide prevention topics
- Experience supporting large, complex federal agencies (ideally VA or DoD)
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
- Proven ability to organize, prioritize, and work well with others
- Ability to logically communicate thoughts, ideas, and solutions both written and orally
- Ability to quickly learn complex issues
- High attention to detail
- Desire to work in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment
- Capable self-starter with drive to get all types of work done
