Commercial Real Estate Relationship Manager

We currently have an opening for a Junior Relationship Manager to focus on acquiring, developing, and servicing relationships with commercial real estate clients in the Atlanta market. The Junior Relationship Manager will work closely with Senior Relationship Managers and Underwriters to evaluate loans for credit risk and assist in the submission, structuring, negotiation, and closing of loan opportunities. The individual will also perform other duties as necessary to support the goals and objectives of the Balance Sheet lending platform.

Responsibilities:
  • Analyzing commercial loan requests, including but not limited to the following: pertinent market information, rent/sale comparables, capitalization rates, market vacancy, demographics, trends, and other data necessary to evaluate loan opportunities
  • Financial modeling of commercial real estate transactions while evaluating, interpreting, and summarizing the data
  • Working with Senior Relationship Managers to structure deals and present to Underwriting and Credit
  • Reviewing real estate documents and third-party reports (leases, loan documents, appraisals, etc.) to identify compliance with loan underwriting
  • Assisting with loan due diligence and loan closings
  • Learning all required credit concepts and major policy parameters
  • Learning all production analysis systems and applicable software applications including Saleforce.com
  • Continuous learning related to credit risk and commercial real estate
  • Assisting the Senior Relationship Manager in the following:
    • Establishing and implementing a sales strategy
    • Interacting with customers or potential customers to explain Capital One products and services with the goal of increasing business with the company
    • Making calls on prospective clients in order to generate high quality new loan, deposit, and fee business to achieve or exceed specific production goals
    • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of competitors' products and pricing in the market served
    • Partnering with internal stakeholders including Underwriting, Risk, Commercial Client Service and Support and Treasury Management to provide an exemplary customer experience
    • Participating in business development networking activities as a member of the CRE Banking teams


Competencies:
  • Team player with proven ability to execute in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Experience in Relationship Management
  • Demonstrated ability to build trust and foster relationships with senior management of customers and prospects
  • Excellent business writing and communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Military Experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in Commercial Real Estate


Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least 3 years of experience in Commercial Real Estate
  • At least 4 years of loan underwriting experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
