Summary
The Test Engineer, Junior performs analysis of documented user requirements and assists in the design of test plans in support of user requirements. The Test Engineer, Junior will directly support the Test Engineer, Senior in the review of the application system requirements documentation; aid in the design, definition, and document unit and application test plans; transform test plans into test scripts and execute those scripts. Additionally, the Test Engineer, Junior will ensure that testing conclusions and recommendations are fully supported by test results and the project manager is fully informed of testing status and application deviations from documented user requirements.

Responsibilities
- Participate in all phases of risk management assessment regarding the system under test.
- Responsible for ensuring proper execution of test scripts and documentation of test results in test logs or defect tracking systems.
- Ensure that the test designs and documentation support all applicable standards.
- Support developmental test oversight activities, which may include but are not limited to:
- Reviewing and providing feedback on test strategies, plans, procedures, scenarios, scripts, test results, and reports.
- Witnessing test events on behalf of the government.
Support other government test activities that may include but are not limited to:
- Assisting with the planning, development, and execution of Test Event Plans, including test procedures, scenarios, scripts, data collection, and reporting.
- Assisting in the planning, preparation, and conduct of Test Readiness Reviews (i.e., TRR, OTRR), including defining entrance and exit criteria.
- Assisting with the development and delivery of test reporting products (e.g., reports, briefings, and metrics) as required.
- Coordinate with Working IPTs to develop schedules and prepare agendas/briefing slides.
- Participate in reviews to assess alignment with program objectives and requirements and determine the feasibility of execution within the defined program baselines.
- Assist in the analysis of test results, document conclusions, and make recommendations as supported by such analysis.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of related experience required
- High school diploma or GED and additional experience may be used in lieu of a degree
- Additional education or relevant higher-level certifications may be used in lieu of experience
- 3+ years of experience as a Test Analyst or similar role
- Possess and maintain a valid state operator's license
- The position requires a COVID vaccination or an approved accommodation/exemption for a disability/medical condition or religious belief
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of software development life cycle (SLDC) is required.
- Experience with Jira Product Management software is required.
- Strong communications skills (both written and oral), strong customer service, and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to listen and understand what is being described by the end user as well as the ability to explain problem resolutions when necessary.
- Ability to occasionally work after hours and/or as on-call support.
- Ability to work independently without direct supervision or guidance.
