Technology Product Marketing Manager (PMM), Machine Learning Analytics

The Capital One Brand team is seeking a Technology Product Marketing Manager (PMM) to help communicate the capabilities and benefits of our Data Insights product to Data Scientists, Machine Learning Engineers, Software Developers, and Data Analysts.

Data Insights is a Capital One enterprise platform that enables Machine Learning libraries as a service. This allows teams to solve for business monitoring, model monitoring, forecasting and prediction using machine learning algorithms with a low-code platform. The machine learning technology detects anomalies in data in real-time, proactively signals critical trend changes, and conducts root cause analysis to identify the cause of these trends.

The Technology PMM will leverage their technical subject matter expertise to help articulate Data Insight's industry-leading technology capabilities - including underlying ML cloud infrastructure, data engineering, and patented models and algorithms - to a highly technical audience. They are champions of our products and define persona and messaging strategy across technology disciplines, from cloud infrastructure to AI/ML. They are experts in our customers and products, and use their expertise to influence our technology and marketing strategies.

What you'll do:
  • Be the subject matter expert on Data Insights; understand the technical ins and outs of how it works.
  • Own hands-on competitive intelligence for other tools and solutions in the market.
  • Partner with a cross-functional team of data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to develop messaging and content for our marketing and sales efforts.
  • Create demos, explainer videos, how-tos, and other technical content for our audience of data scientists, machine learning engineers, and analysts.
  • Flex your interpersonal skills to translate the complexity of your work into tangible business goals
  • Develop insights based on product usage data, voice of customer, campaign effectiveness, and industry trends and translate those insights into actionable recommendations that promote business objectives and drive tangible results.

The Ideal Candidate Is:
  • Customer first. You love the process of analyzing and creating, but also share our passion to do the right thing. You know at the end of the day it's about making the right decision for our customers.
  • Technical. You're comfortable with open-source languages and are passionate about developing further. You have hands-on experience developing data science solutions using open-source tools and cloud computing platforms.
  • Statistically-minded. You've built models, validated them, and back-tested them. You know how to interpret a confusion matrix or a ROC curve. You have experience with clustering, classification, sentiment analysis, time series, and deep learning.
  • A data guru. "Big data" doesn't faze you. You have the skills to retrieve, combine, and analyze data from a variety of sources and structures. You know understanding the data is often the key to great data science.

Who you are:

You want to be an EVIDENCE-BASED MARKETER.
  • Your curiosity is endless. There's always something else to learn.
  • You're flexible and not afraid of change-in fact you welcome the challenge.
  • You share your point of view, but seek out what might be missing and listen.
  • You have big ideas and know the best ones are driven by proof, persistence and patience.
  • You're a storyteller. You simplify the complex and compel your audience to act.
  • You know how to enjoy yourself. While fun isn't mandatory, it certainly seems to follow you.
  • You care-about the work, your team and the customers you serve.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or military experience
  • At least 6 years of experience in a technology marketing role
  • At least 3years of experience in a product marketing role
  • At least 1 year of experience in open source programming languages for large scale data analysis
  • At least 1 year of experience with machine learning
  • At least 1 year of experience with relational databases

Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least 5 years of experience in a marketing role
  • At least 3 years of experience in a product marketing role
  • Experience marketing B2B enterprise technology products or services
  • Experience in highly cross-functional and matrixed teams
  • Master's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics
  • At least 3 years of experience in data analytics, or PhD in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics
  • At least 1 year of experience working with AWS
  • At least 3 years of experience in Python, Scala, or R
  • At least 3 years of experience with machine learning
  • At least 3 years of experience with SQL
