Duties

  • Provide financial analysis, budget analysis, cost analysis, and cost estimating services to leadership within a 3-Star HQs to assist in their decision support activities.
  • Provide advice, assistance, and guidance on budgeting, cost estimating and financial management related information.
  • Analyze financial/budgetary programs, data call deadlines, objectives, gaps and conflicts in program and budgetary information.
  • Analyze financial/budgetary relationships and developing recommendations for financial actions (e.g. requesting allotments or reprogramming funds among object classes).
  • Incumbent is responsible for all aspects of the formulation, development, and execution of budgets, financial plans, and multi-year programs to properly fund and meet program resource requirements.
  • Manage of financial analysis (budgeting) and cost analysis/estimating management options, budgetary methods, practices, procedures, regulations, precedents, policies, and other Army, MACOM, and installation guides.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Secret Clearance - This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • You will be required to acquire a FM Certification Level 2 for this position.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) conducting research and data analytics of financial data and investigating data trends and anomalies from vast sets of data; 2) developing and maintaining accurate, timely budget, programming, and reporting data; AND 3) monitoring execution of Operating Budgets, Budget Estimates and program guidance for assigned programs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
