Job Summary:
The Washington Post is searching for an idealistic individual to fill our Credit and Billing Finance Supervisor Role. This accounting-based role will be the primary person responsible for accurate billing for print and digital advertising. You will work to ensure revenue recognition of our commercial, Comprint, Zeus Prime, daily print, and digital business. The best candidate will be an individual who has an open mind, enjoys researching and fixing systematic and process issues. You will work closely with the management to research more efficient ways to save time and be proactive in avoiding discrepancies. You will aid in the compilation of process narratives, finance department audit trails and lead meetings. This position affords you the opportunity to work on multiple projects for process enhancements and to lead and design trainings. This small tight knit group is fast paced and works in a deadline driven environment. This position is instrumental to the finance team success and reports to the Manager, Finance.

Responsibilities
- Ensure the entire lifecycle of order to cash process for multiple revenue streams has been properly billed and recognized for multiple company products
- Review, balance and approve all statements for daily, weekly, and monthly billing for customers
- Oversee billing inquiries team, new accts team and billing team to ensure contractual obligations, manual reformats, revisions of client invoices and account attributes
- Oversee and approve all research and upload documentation necessary for I payables, Operative and SAP for billing, commissions, and adjustments
- Maintain accurate support documentation for contract updates and audit trail according to company's policies and accepted accounting practices
- Review and approve all billing files and uploads
- Produce, review, and make recommendations based of team metrics and monthly reports
- Back up the team on verifying all print and digital adjustments, billing, and uploads
- Work with auditors and management to ensure the finance team passes audits
- Provide opportunities for the team to enhance the skillset and knowledge base on an ongoing basis and grow through team building exercises
- Coordinate team schedules and vacations to provide consistent support and coverage to our organizational partners throughout the company
- Work with preprint, statement, and ECRM outside vendors to ensure smooth operations and develop best practices for team
- Approve team research on credit terms and limit increases within company policies
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles required
- High proficiency in utilizing MS Excel required
- Exceptional interpersonal and written communication skills required
- 3+Years of experience with systems, and platforms such as: Jira, Operative and SAP preferred
- 3+Years of credit analysis and billing process management required
- Comfortable with analyzing large volumes of complex data and presenting findings in management settings
- Ability to lead, coach and monitor direct reports preferred
- Ability to prioritize and act with urgency required
- Flexible night and weekend availability for urgent after-hours support required
