Westat has immediate opening for a research assistant to join the Public Health and Epidemiology Practice. Qualified individuals may work on a variety of projects and need to be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. This position is based in Rockville, Maryland though remote work is an option.
Job Responsibilities:
• Support data collection activities including recruitment, surveys, interviews, and focus groups.
• Conduct and summarize literature reviews.
• Provide administrative support as needed (updating presentations, coordinating/scheduling meetings, note taking, etc)
• Assist in developing project materials and documentation.
• Perform data entry, data management, and manipulation using MS Excel spreadsheets.
• Conduct quality control checks on data and reports.
• Assist in the analysis of qualitative data.
Basic Qualifications:
• A bachelor's degree, preferably in public health, social sciences or related fields.
• At least 1 year of experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Background/knowledge about survey design.
• Qualitative research experience.
• Experience taking notes from interviews.
• Experience with data collection.
• Ability to summarize and communicate research results
Minimum Qualifications:
• Demonstrated communication skills
• Collaboration with teams, managers and/or clients
