As Fiscal Officer for the Alcohol Safety Action Program (ASAP), develops and justifies complex revenue and expenditure projections for the agency budget and all periodic reviews for submission to the county and the ASAP Policy Board, and transcribes data to conform to the Commission on VASAP annual budget requirements. Duties include:

  • Analyzes cost, revenue, and client and performance data in order to prepare recommendations to the agency director.
  • Collects statistical data and prepares reports for the Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court (JDRDC), ASAP Policy Board, Commission on VASAP, and periodic reports to judges.
  • Oversees the daily collection and deposit of revenue, and preparation and data entry of daily cash report.
  • Reviews automated financial reports for accuracy, completion, and propriety.
  • Monitors monthly revenue collection and meets with local and state representatives in regard to fiscal matters.
  • Reviews client fee balances and initiates correspondence on all financial matters.
  • Works with customers regarding their financial obligations and payment agreements.
  • Supervises administrative assistants.

Employment Standards

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in accounting; or a bachelor's degree in business administration or related field that has been supplemented by at least six credit hours of basic accounting principles and concepts; plus two years of professional-level finance or business administration experience. A master's degree in a related field or CPA may substitute for one year of experience.

  • All newly hired employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (two weeks after the last required dose) as a condition of employment or obtain approval of a medical or religious exemption prior to their start date. Proof of an exemption or vaccination status will be required during the pre-employment onboarding process. New employees who obtain an exemption from the vaccine mandate for medical or sincerely held religious beliefs may be subject to a weekly testing requirement.   • The appointee to the position must satisfactorily complete a criminal background check, credit check, and Child Protective Services Registry check.
  • Experience with financial systems, including: Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system for human resource management, ERP system to process payments and receivables and ERP system to process procurement documents.
  • Experience working in the field of Finance for a local or state government, ideal.
  • Experience performing reconciliations, audits, and budget forecasting and analysis.
  • Supervisory experience.
Duties are sedentary, but some lifting up to 15 pounds. Ability to use keyboard driven equipment. All duties performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
