Human Resources is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining AARP enterprise-wide human resource strategies, initiatives, policies, procedures and related systems. This includes employee compensation and benefits, organization design and integration, talent acquisition, talent development and employee relations.

HR's Talent Acquisition department designs and implements innovative recruiting solutions starting from creating awareness of AARP as a career destination through onboarding. Reporting to the Manager of Recruiting, the Recruiting Manager will create and implement innovative and impactful recruiting strategies for AARP businesses, affiliates, and operational disciplines. You will cultivate strong and consultative relationships with their stakeholders and deliver a consistent and compliant recruitment process, resulting in an exceptional experience for hiring managers and job seekers alike. In this role, you will partner with the rest of the TA function, HRG, and AARP business leadership, as well as external partners to meet the organization's current and future talent needs.

Responsibilities

  • Execute full life cycle recruiting techniques such as attending recruiting events; performing candidate sourcing and screening; preparing all stakeholders for interviews, including logistics management; gathering hiring team consensus feedback; selling AARP as an employer of choice; delivering, negotiating, and closing offers; initiating pre-hire checks and other onboarding activities; support on special projects as needed.
  • Deliver a consistent, compliant, and consultative stakeholder experience in alignment with TA goals and standards, including partnering with hiring managers to determine the best recruitment and hiring strategy for their needs; developing creative and diverse sourcing strategies; generating, qualifying, and presenting a diverse pipeline of candidates; coaching and mentoring clients on interviewing techniques and strategies; managing the recruitment process; and facilitating a positive pre-onboarding experience.
  • Exceed client expectations by providing a strong service orientation, informed decision-making, and efficiency in delivering quality results.
  • Work with hiring managers to translate job requirements into a marketable, professional, and compliant job advertisement while exhibiting a clear understanding of the business needs.
  • Maintain timely, accurate, updated, and compliant information in AARP's applicant tracking system; accountability for successfully managing, prioritizing, and closing searches against a timeline; and company, client, and candidate confidentiality.
  • Deploy relationship recruitment techniques, including actively participating in enterprise SEERG groups, cultivating internal and external networks to build talent pipelines, educating clients on how to market their opening on social platforms, and promoting the employee referral program.
  • Partner with all Human Resources groups to validate that job postings align with FLSA requirements, AARP's career management strategy, and AARP's compensation and organization design guidelines.
  • Stay current with new industry sources, HR technology and recruitment techniques, HR and recruitment compliance, and privacy laws.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree with a minimum of 5+ years of full life-cycle recruitment experience placing professionals in a corporate or agency environment preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of various passive and direct recruiting techniques, social media platforms and professional networking channels (Hiretual, LinkedIn Recruiter).
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems (iCIMS a plus); demonstrated expertise in MS Office applications.
  • Strong client/candidate management skills and c onsultative disposition with the ability to assess the landscape, understand the sense of urgency, challenge, convince and persuade when required, and execute realizing the value of providing unparalleled, sophisticated customer service.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Remain on the cutting edge of emerging trends as it relates to recruitment strategies and processes.
  • Proven ability to consistently and positively contribute in a fast-paced and changing work environment with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple searches and client relationships.
  • Home office environment with the ability to work effectively surrounded by moderate home environment noise.

Flexible Work Arrangement (FWA)

AARP observes Mondays and Fridays as telecommuting workdays, except for essential functions. Remote work and telecommuting can only be done within the United States and its territories.
