Facilities Management at the University of Maryland, College Park, seeks HVAC mechanics with professional knowledge of commercial HVAC equipment and systems including building automation.

Position 109947 HVAC Operations Chief – Installs, maintains and repairs HVAC equipment including centrifugal, reciprocating and screw compressors, hydronic systems, pumps, boilers, air handling units, unitary equipment, rooftop and package DX units, terminal devices and all associated controls. Must have a minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible field experience in the HVAC trade and Universal CFC certification. Position 101750 HVAC Mechanic II Fume Hoods - Performs preventive/corrective and predictive maintenance, and system upgrades for proper operation of fume hood systems and related HVAC equipment. Evaluates performance of related systems resulting in recertification within University standards. Must have six (6) years of progressively responsible field experience in the HVAC trade, including hands-on training in HVAC systems, electrical, and/or building automation and other building support equipment such as pneumatic systems, low voltage switchgear, and motor control centers (MCC). Specific experience with electrical, electronic equipment required.

QUALIFICATIONS: All applicants must possess a high school diploma or GED and a valid Maryland Class “C” driver’s license, or equivalent, with fewer than 6 points
