Summary

The Database Administrator (DBA) - Sr. will provide technical expertise for database design, implementation, and analysis. Your talents, perspectives, and efforts will contribute directly to the production of valuable intelligence to facilitate positive mission outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Perform high-level, day-to-day operational maintenance, support, and upgrades for complex database management systems workstations and servers on multiple operating systems.
  • Implement and maintain smooth operation and physical design of databases.
  • Design the database server.
  • Install, maintain, and configure architecture.
  • Perform troubleshooting and resolution management.
  • Provide support for advanced user jobs and analytics.
  • Coordinate, direct, and perform complex database software installations and upgrades to operating systems and related database software packages.
  • Schedule installations and upgrades and maintain them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and tune multiple database systems and databases to achieve optimum performance levels.
  • Ensure database data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate solutions of varying complexities.
  • Ensure database recoverability by developing and implementing a schedule of database backups and archive operations.
  • Plan and implement the modernization of database implementations.
  • Develop, implement, and promotes standard operating procedures and schedules.
  • Conduct audits of databases to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
  • Develop and implements new standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Work closely with Systems Admins, database engineers, and software developers to help determine and develop the database software and databases that will be implemented.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • 10+ years of related experience as a database administrator, specializing in supporting Oracle and SQL environments.
  • Oracle RAC installation, upgrade, and maintenance (patching, RMAN backup, and tunning)
  • RHEL (Linux)
  • WebLogic, Oracle Forms/Reports, Oracle Data Guard
  • Ability to obtain Public Trust

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of SQL Server, AWS & Azure, Oracle EM, PowerShell, Shell Scripting, Windows, Oracle Apex, BO/Oracle BI/Power BI, ServiceNow
  • Must have a broad base of knowledge and be fluent in multiple IT disciplines such as computing and networking
  • Ability to work independently and yet be effective within a team setting
  • Must be capable of managing multiple efforts with time-related constraints in a fast-paced contracting environment
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholder groups and individuals
  • Friendly presence, helpful attitude, good interpersonal skills, and ability to work well with others
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Office applications
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications, and experience working in a home office setting as well as the ability to train end users on frequently asked technical issues
  • Ability to provide technical assistance and support over the phone; good phone skills, professional demeanor, and previous customer service experience strongly desired
  • Good problem-solving skills; ability to visualize a problem/situation and think abstractly to solve it
