The MIL Corporation is seeking a part-time Security Engineering, Sr. Associate (Subject Matter Expert (SME)) with proven full-scale research, development, design, and integration in advanced pen testing tools to support Federal Customers at the NAVAL AIR SYSTEMS AND COMMAND (NAVAIR) located in Patuxent River, MD. Research and development involves using a challenging, offensive mindset to provide design and integration in advance pen testing tools.

  • Deliver subject matter expertise in cyber security and technology topics relevant to research and development
  • Ability to oversee staff and projects
  • Leads development of code and integration of complex software components into a fully functional software system.
  • Leads development and design of offensive and defensive components catered to weapons and control systems
  • Leads repair, modification, or redesign of assigned end items to support the design, development and modification of products using knowledge of data engineering disciplines.
  • Participate in team problem solving efforts
  • Translate mission and component requirements into technical specifications
  • Provide systems engineering support for data design reviews, system behavior modeling, functional flows and descriptions, development of interface control documents and interface description documents
  • Ensure the technical quality of deliverables (reports, software, hardware, services) to customers

Required Qualifications
  • 15+ years of experience with network exploitation tools
  • BS or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or related IT discipline recommended
  • Ability to work autonomously and efficiently within designated timeframes or deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, organizational and analytical skills
  • Expertise with several of the following tools: C, C++, Python, Java, JavaScript, Linux and Windows OS

Desired Qualifications
  • BASH/Python/PowerShell scripting
  • Knowledge of leading-edge penetration testing design and implementation methods


Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship. Please note that the clearance process considers financial background aspects.
